  1. Javy would have come around to score, anyway Would have been the third out.
  2. Yep. Better get to Chacin early because he won’t pitch past the 4th.
  3. Carpenter might have been able to beat Rizzo to 2nd.
  4. Carl just because the bases are empty doesn’t mean you have to walk someone.
  5. Willy dong! First one since August 1. EDIT: Guess not.
  6. LOL. Pitchers just love throwing to first when Baez is still standing on it.
  7. Milwaukee up 3-0. This is where Detroit turns it around and wins 6-5, right?
  8. Too bad Martinez couldn’t make a throw as poorly as he attempted to field that ball.
  9. I’ve give you the offense. When Chili Davis is fired later this week I am going to buy my first newspaper since November 3, 2016, tear out the article and hang it on my fridge over my daughters drawings It’s going to be so depressing when they don’t fire him.
  10. Why are you even watching that crap? And don’t say love of baseball On the offhand chance the Tigers do something good.
  11. Yep, no Kershaw, Hill or Buehler (I assume he goes tomorrow) for LA and no Freeland for the Rockies (he pitched Friday).
  12. Hey guys, Yelich just made an out. First one since Sept 23.
  13. You can be honest. You don’t really think they’re winning today and you probably can’t wait to gloat when we don’t win the division. Whoa. What's this all about? You’ve been on the “Cubs are blowing this” train for a while. You don’t get to switch now.
  14. You can be honest. You don’t really think they’re winning today and you probably can’t wait to gloat when we don’t win the division.
  15. I mean the Brewers will go 24-10 to finish the season. Sure the Cubs could have played that well but it’s a valid excuse as is the Cubs never having an off day while I believe the Brewers had 5 the brewers had a red hot finish because they played a bunch of horsefeathers, non-trying teams as half of baseball is actively trying to lose. cubs played many of those same horsefeathers, non-trying teams. also the brewers whipped the cubs’ ass head to head. brewers played out of their minds for a month but if you end the season losing 4/7 at home to pirates and cardinals, it’s partially on you. Yes, part of it is on the Cubs. The problem is you, 17 Seconds and a couple others are acting like it’s some massive choke job. It’s not. They didn’t go 7-20 in September like the 2011 Red Sox or 9-18 in September like the 2011 Braves. They’ll go either 15-13 or 16-12. That’s not great but it’s not bad either. I don’t think anyone here is saying none of this is the Cubs fault. But by saying the Brewers got hot, we’re saying it’s not all the Cubs fault.
  16. At least we’ll have an off day tomorrow.
  17. The Brewers did get horsefeathering hot. It’s not an excuse. It’s a horsefeathering fact.
  18. Sigh. If this is how it’s going to be, just let the Brewers put up 10 and have the Cards hammer us so we can take everyone out early and let Chatwood and Duensing go 5 innings.
  19. Two hard hit outs for Detroit already. So par for the course for Milwaukee.
  20. Didn’t realize Yelich has a chance at the Triple Crown. Big lead in BA, tied in HRs with Carpenter and 2 back of Baez in RBI.
  21. To be fair, no one who said that envisioned Christian Yelich turning into horsefeathering steroid era Barry Bonds for an entire month. Because I was curious: Yelich in September: .361/.500/.826 Yelich since Aug 28: .391/.508/.886 (this includes a 2 HR game on Aug 28 and his 6-6 game) Bonds average 2001-04: .349/.559/.809 Yelich's September (1.326 OPS) would be Bonds's 4th best season and his September plus a couple days (1.394 OPS) would be just behind Bonds's 2004 (1.422 OPS) when he walked 232 times and had a .609 OBP. Related note, there have been 14 seasons since then. Bonds's 120 IBB's that year would have led the league in BB's in 6 of those 14 seasons.
