    Dodgers appear to have set up their rotation for the division series since Kershaw is going Saturday and Burhler on Sunday. Which means if they have to try through Sunday, neither of them would be able to start the WC game on Tuesday.

    I just don't know if either Machado or Bryant would be cool with that move, Machado has already been pretty adamant of bing a SS only. I don't think the Machado to SS thing was him being like "I WANT TO BE A SHORTSTOP FOREVER DAMNIT!" and it was more "I want to prove I can play shortstop so I can maximize my profits this offseason" He probably won't give a horsefeathers where he plays as long as he gets his money. I was just about to post the same thing. Maybe he does really want to play SS but I’m guessing he just hoped it would increase his contract value.

    I would so love a Sunday laugher. Although I suppose the game could mean something for the cardinals. Cubs win Friday and Saturday Brewers lose one of the two days (preferably Friday since we play before them on Saturday and then we could clinch with a win) Dodgers win either Friday or Saturday Then Sunday doesn’t matter to either us or the Cards. EDIT: Just realized that if we win tomorrow, Brewers lose and Dodgers win, we’d be able to clinch the division and knock out the Cards with a win on Saturday.

    Also, it would have been funnier if CC had gotten through 7 (he was only at 55 pitches when he got tossed) and then plunked the first batter in the 8th just so he got his bonus.

    Sabathia had hit a Ray player in the bottom of the 5th (almost certainly not intentional since it glanced off the back of the guys hand. Because the Romine pitch was the first one in the top of the 6th, I’m going to lean towards that being intentional.

    First time in franchise history with four straight playoff appearances. Eat horsefeathers, Mordecai Brown and the 1906-1908 Cubs. That gutless, choking 104 win 1909 team that went 9-13 against the Pirates deserves all the scorn they’ve gotten over the last century plus.

    With the caveat that I don’t expect the Cards to roll over for us if they’re eliminated, the Dodgers hurt us today. If they had won, they’d be 2 up on St Louis instead of 1. If the Rockies win tomorrow, they’ll be 2 up on St Louis. Which means the earliest the Cards can be eliminated is Saturday. If we beat them on Friday and the Dodgers win, they’ll be 2 back with 2 to play and we play before the Dodgers play on Saturday. Would have been nice to bounce St Louis Friday in the hopes that they’ll be a little off on Sat and Sun.

    Was just coming to post that article. Also not surprising at all that Javy and Willy also have huge splits between low/medium leverage and high leverage. Both seem to go up there anxious in a big spot like they'll swing at anything.
