  1. Buck and Smoltz fawning over the good catch Bellinger just made because he's played only 12 innings in right this year. Guys, he played almost 500 innings in center. I think he's fine handling right.
  2. What did the tweet say? Looks like it got deleted. EDIT: Assuming it was this?
  3. Just saw the second one. Man that was not only stupid but unnecessary. Hello get had that thing beat out regardless. Plus then they show Machado in the dugout after the overturn and he’s shaking his head like he can’t believe it. I mean, this isn’t a Matt Holliday complete takeout slide, but he slid way wide of the base, didn’t maintain contact with the base and tried to reach out and grab Arcia as he was sliding by. It’s as textbook of an illegal slide as you can get now.
  4. he has to wait until game 4 at least Yeah, pretty sure you didn’t start freaking out until we got shut out in Game 3.
  5. Thought Counsell was pushing it with Jeffress staying in. Pitched yesterday and at 20 pitches after the 7th. Got burned for it.
  6. Joe Buck said “this is going to be a tough play” on the Taylor single and it made me happy.
  7. Dodgers just used their last guy on the bench in the 7th. I’m sure they won’t have to bat a pitcher in a big spot later in the game.
  8. Friendly reminder that the Mets are a horsefeathering joke. [tweet]https://twitter.com/keithlaw/status/1050864847154499584[/tweet]
  9. I almost want the Dodgers to win more because of this post than because I don’t want the Brewers to win.
  10. Dodgers making it interesting. 6-4 in the 8th.
  11. Yes that’s exactly what I was doing when I said that the Brewers and Cards have the same type of September schedule as we do. Try again.
  12. I was just looking at the schedule to see who we start off with next year and noticed this also. We have 6 off days in March and April. 3 of those are because of various home openers (Texas, Atlanta and ours). But we've also got an off day between home series against Arizona then the Dodgers (the Dodgers are in Milwaukee before so makes sense they need an extra day for that long trip). And we've also got an offday after a Sunday road game in Arizona before going to Seattle (the Mariners are at home also right before). It's only a two-game series but it seems like they could have scheduled that for Mon and Tue and then a four game set Thur-Sun. So at the beginning of the season we play 29 games in 36 days. And then we've got two off days in September with games on 18 straight days, including (as was pointed out) in San Diego on a Thursday before traveling home for a 1:20 start on Friday. At least Milwaukee has a similar September schedule (a stretch of 18 straight days with a game and only two off days) minus the random San Diego to day home game thing. Cards only have 2 off days also. Hopefully that all doesn't matter and we treat September as a victory tour like we did in 2016.
  13. Kimbrel trying to blow it. Either that or the Yankees have a solid fake rally going.
  14. Yeah, I'll be rooting for the AL regardless in the WS. My order is Astros Red Sox Yankees Dodgers Brewers I get the Astros hate but for some reason I don't really have it. They've been in the AL for 6 years and were mediocre at best their last 7 years in the NL (08 at 86-75 was their only solid year). And they generally go out there and hit a lot of dongs.
  15. Well that escalated quickly. Goodbye Cleveland.
  16. So ump gives Buehler a gift 3-0 strike to Acuna. Next pitch Acuna hits a grand slam.
  17. 3 ties. They nearly tied the Raiders last week also. And the Saints game they missed a FG that would have sent it to OT. They’re also a missed FG (I know Pitt missed one earlier in OT as well) and a blown call by the officials away from being 4-1.
  18. That leaderboard is amazing. Trout literally has twice the WAR in that span of the second best player.
  19. seems like a pretty silly complaint considering the rockies eliminated us 3 days ago The Cubs suck even worse than the Rockies, so not really. The Cubs won 5 more games in a tougher division. They don’t suck.
  20. The 2016 Giants and 2015 Cardinals were both pretty weak. The 2015 Cardinals won 100 games. They weren’t weak.
  21. They aren't obligated. But wouldn't it be great if they used the influence to at least try. Not for Addison Russell but, going forward, if an organization like the Cubs actually held him accountable and other players took notice, maybe this happens less in the future. Make him actually go to counseling. Make him do more than just give lip service to doing the right things. After he's done that, if they're not convinced he's changed for the better than publicly and loudly blast him into a billion pieces. If the Cubs released him tomorrow and someone else picks him up, he will have learned nothing and will probably do it again. Women seem to like this guy. Don't you think "oh no I might get released from my extremely high paying job in sports" is much more of a deterrent to bad behavior than "oh no I have to attend a few therapy sessions"? I’m sure he’s much more worried he’ll get released because he can’t hit than because of bad behavior.
