  1. So if Kyler Murray enters the NFL draft, gets picked and signs with an NFL team, do the A's get a comp pick as if he didn't sign?
  2. You don't think Duke, the Tide's marquee non conference foe next year, can take them down? I hope this yrs championship game results do bring the perception of Alabama down some. Anyone who suggested Alabama shouldnt have made the final 4 if they lost to Georgia was considered nuts. Yet their schedule was garbage....and will be even more so nect season It probably won’t and it probably shouldn’t. They’re still a great team. They just happened to play pretty much their worst possible game and Clemson didn’t do anything wrong. A similar score line would have happened had Clemson played as poorly as Bama did and Bama was nearly perfect. Clemson had a tougher non-conference schedule but Bama’s conference schedule was harder because the ACC was not good. Bama would have had a good case to still be in had they lost to Georgia. Personally, I would have left them out in favor of OU or OSU but there definitely would be an argument to include them.
  3. Where do I bet on Clemson-Bama being the title game matchup again next year?
  4. Tied for the 2nd most points Bama has allowed under Saban behind the 2014 Sugar Bowl (45 to Oklahoma).
  5. Someone who pays attention more to college football explain this to me. They said with regards to Ross, that he didn't like the turnover on the Bama staff year after year. They said Clemson has barely had any turnover on their staff (don't know if this is true or not). Do they just pay their assistants way more than Bama? I would think Clemson would get raided year after year with position coaches wanting to be OC's and DC's just like Bama does. I know Venables isn't going anywhere but he's only one guy.
  6. Well that one the guy got hurt on the play. Based on no contact and how long he's stayed down, might be either Achillies or knee. He didn't roll the ankle so it's not that. True, but then there were no other safeties anywhere close Definitely not arguing Bama's defense has been good, but Tua gave them 7 and then gave them a short field with the pick when Bama was at midfield. Bama also had the false start on 2nd and goal from the 1 and settled for 3, so that cost them 4 points also. Basically Bama's been subpar on both sides of the ball.

  8. What a dumb call to fake a FG there. If you're going for it, maybe have your Heisman runner up do something?
  9. Early on Bama's offense was rolling and Clemson's offense really only had the one big play. But they flipped that late in the 1st quarter. Now Clemson's offense looks great. A couple bad throws by Tua certainly helped. The first one in particular, the announcers kept saying the defense confused him. And while that might be true, unless the receiver had arms out of his back, he had no chance of getting a hand on that ball.
  10. Surprised OU actually kept it this close after being down 28-0.
  11. 9-9, 184, 2 TDs for Tua.
  12. If they have another great game like the first two title games, I can live with it. People got tired of Cavs-Warriors in part because the last two finals were terrible.
  13. Yeah, this thing could get ugly quickly if Oklahoma can’t put up points.
  14. TCU QBs were 8-21, 28 yards, 4 INTs and were sacked twice for 16 yards. And they won. Cal's QBs were 17-33, 164 yards, 5 INTs.
  15. If not for an inept kicker the first couple weeks, they'd have made the playoffs this year. Crazy. Or if they had a real coach from week 1. Jackson almost certainly cost them a win or 2 for just being a dumbass. Yeah, I was going to say maybe if they didn’t let a guy who went 1-31 in his two years keep coaching, they might be in the playoffs. Steelers, Saints, Raiders and Bucs games were all winnable. Give them two and they’re 9-5-1 or 9-6.
  16. He went to UC Davis. Good enough for me.
  17. Jose Mourinho was fired today. Not too surprising. This one was coming all year. He’s held 8 jobs and only once has he coached into the fourth year. That was his first stint with Chelsea and he was fired 6 games into his fourth season.
  18. No week 15 thread so this will have to do. Saw that Mayfield is the first Browns QB with 20 passing TDs in a season since 2007 (Derek Anderson). That led me to Play Index the Browns QBs. Mayfield's 2018 season is only the second Browns QB season with 20+ TDs since 1987. Not second QB (i.e. a QB did it multiple times) but second time total. Like, I know the Browns have been terrible over that time and have cycled through QBs but only doing it twice is impressive.
  19. 0 times in top 5 in BA, 0 in HRs, 1 in RBI. What exactly are these stats you shingle infested carcass? Don't forget hits where Baines had one top 5 finish. Even if you go to top-10, you get 3 in BA, 2 in RBI, 1 in HR and 1 in H. We should Tony some slack. I heard he did the interview in his car right after taking a nap while waiting for a stoplight to turn to green.
  20. Then you’re potentially screwing over the No. 1 seed by making them play a much tougher team than they could be.
  21. Good for the Brewers if they get him. You guys are pretending the Cubs haven't spent money on this team. They have the #1 payroll in the National League. The truth is, Theo and the baseball ops department are the problem because they HAVE been able to spend money, they've just spent it on mostly garbage outside of Lester. Jason Heyward, Tyler Chatwood, Yu Darvish. You only get so many bullets and you can't screw up that many big money signings. And if Theo knew that signing Darvish last year would hamper their search for free agents this year, that's an ever bigger f***-up than we think. If by #1 in the NL you mean either 3rd or 4th, then sure, #1 in the NL. I mean, I understand your general point that the Cubs have and spend a lot of money, but no need to keep repeating false claims.
  22. Anyone win or lose in fantasy because of that Seattle defensive TD? There's a fantasy league at my work and the guy who sits next to me outscored everyone by at least 100 points this year but was the 3 seed because the top-3 all went 10-3 and he lost to the other two. He's playing the weakest of the 5 other playoff teams. Was looking good until Cooper went for 36 points in the 4th quarter and OT yesterday,. So he's down 11 with Seattle's defense left. At 14-0, he's at 8 points so he basically needs a defensive TD to win or something crazy like two sacks and a pick or fumble recovery (1 point per sack/int/fumble recovery). Oh, and the other guy put up the 4th highest single week score in the league this week and was like 20 points higher than anything else he'd done this year (the guy who sits next to me has the top 3, this week included). Dude didn't even watch the game because he was so annoyed that he was probably going to lose.
  23. Rudy Gobert got tossed in less than 3 minutes tonight. He got called for a foul on the opening tip (can’t remember the last time I’ve seen that) and then was posting up Harden, gave him a little bump and Harden flopped for Gobert’s second foul. Knocked over some water at the scorers table and yelled a couple words at the refs and got tossed.
  24. Career 1.170 OPS against the Cubs, which is his best against any NL team. Only one higher is the Angels (1.247 OPS).
  25. They have to take the highest ranked teams. Except for the conference-tied Rose and Sugar, who get a team from those leagues no matter how high they are ranked. That's why Texas is in the Sugar. Thanks for the info. I knew that the champs got auto bids if they weren’t in the playoff and the top Group of 5 got a spot also but didn’t know after that. I remember the BCS used to have a two max per conference rule. Wouldn’t be opposed to them making it 3 per conference assuming there are enough in the top 15/16 ish.
