  1. Lol, no it is not. Also Willy is back tomorrow, so the catcher stats improve quite a bit. Is he for sure back tomorrow or is he eligible to come off the IL tomorrow?
  2. They are going to have to figure it out real fast, because I think like 18 of the next 24 are on the road. Or something close to that. What’s their record on the road since the stupid 1-8 start or whatever? I’m guessing things even out a bit soon, they aren’t this bad on the road or just inherently bad there. It’s a dumb random sample. Found it: They are 17-20 on the road taking out the crazy start, that’s more like it. Sweep a series or win multiple series on a trip and it’s basically back in line with where it should be outside the first trip. You can't just take out 9 games against three teams at or over .500 just because they were at the beginning of the season. Sure it seems fluky but they're also under .500 the rest of the time on the road, even excluding that. They're 18-28 on the year and were 2-7 on that trip. Give them 4-5 instead and that's still only 20-26. That's bad for a team that wants to make the playoffs. Unless I'm missing one, they've won 4 of 15 road series and two of those were against Seattle and Miami. The other two were Washington and Arizona. They haven't won a road series in 2 months. This team has done nothing to make us think they're actually capable of sweeping a road series or winning multiple road series on a trip. Even at home, they've shown no ability to put together a win streak. They've won 4 straight games as many times as the Marlins this year. We're 100 games into the season and the Cubs are on pace for 87.5 wins. It's very likely this is just who they are. They're capable of great things on a given day and they're capable of crap on a given day. That doesn't mean they won't get hot and pull away, but there's no indication from what they've done over the first 3 1/2 months of the year that they will.
  3. There was one game a couple years ago that was quite enjoyable.
  4. 5/10 on the fake rally scale. Needed Schwarber to reach to really boost it up.
  5. That's an easy out if they're shifting like the Giants did on Schwarber.
  6. I swear to God if they blow this again. Well Yelich batted last inning so that's good.
  7. Suarez pretending he's playing the Cubs and hits a two-run homer. Reds up 6-5.
  8. And now something called a Tyler Saladino hit his second grand slam in as many days for the Brewers.
  9. And then they bunted into an out, singled but had a runner thrown out at home and flew out to lose.
  10. Cards-Pirates in extras. Cards got 4 in the top half but Pirates have gone double, double, homer, single, reach on error. It’s 6-5 and still no out.
  11. horsefeathers off Maddon. Go away any day now.
  12. Bringing in Carl with two already on is not ideal. He’s got no buffer now when he inevitably walks two guys.
  13. Why pick that ball up? You weren’t getting the runner. Just let it roll on the slim chance it goes foul.
  14. super second half cubs have been engaged - this man is toast Yeah, dude is going to have nightmares of Wrigley after today.
  15. I believe 10 games over is our high watermark and we've hit it twice, only to go on a pretty big slump almost immediately after. Hopefully the 2nd half Super Cubs are truly in effect and we're not just riding a high beating weak teams. Unfortunately for us, we’ve got 9 straight road games coming up.
  16. Solid work from Strop. Wouldn’t mind an insurance run or two here.
  17. More solid work by Russell and Almora. Kintzler bailed them out.
