I get that those hitters have their weak sides but Kintzler has been absolute nails against LHB so I think the move was fine. He just couldnt come close enough to the plate to elicit a swing once he got 2 strikes. Nope, still dumb. If Kintzler is nails against lefties, just bring him in to start the inning. He used the splits to bring Ryan in (to face a lefty and then to make Reynolds bad righty since his OPS is 200+ points better as a lefty) but then ignores them for the next three hitters. It’s dumb and there’s no good reason for it.
We’re getting there. Cubs are at .683 at home and .371 on the road. I don’t know if it’s the record but the 1987 Twins were .691 at home and .358 on the road. And they won the WS that year.
No, it’s why you don’t load the bases. The Moran at bat was the issue. You still don’t put the winning run on base. Why make it so a double loses you the game? Bell’s been garbage for two months. No need to walk him.
Fun fact: Almora has the same OPS as Lorenzo Cain this year. Cain’s been more valuable because he actually knows how to play defense and he’s got 40 points of OBP. I knew Cain had fallen off but I didn’t realize how much.
They’ll probably find some way to win 2 of 3 in Pittsburgh, win 8 of those 11 home games but get swept by the Mets in the middle. Lose 3 of 4 in Milwaukee and split in SD. Go 7-3 at home before ending the year 1-5. That puts them at 85-77. St Louis wins the division with 86.
It’s a ways off, but I’m going to predict we’ll either be 2 games up going in to the St Louis series at the end of the year and we’ll get swept or we’ll be tied and lose 2 of 3. In the latter scenario, we’ll win the first game only to lose the next two.
You guys should really start doing what I do and only pay attention to the home games. It's much more enjoyable that way. I went and played a couple hours of racquetball tonight, checked the score when I got done, saw it was 11-1, and closed the app.
Nobody is buried in this division race I said could be buried. Especially with 6 vs St Louis and 7 vs us. I mean, 4 of those are at home against the Cubs so that should be 3 wins for Milwaukee, but my point stands.
He almost no hit the Cubs with Wieters catching him who also hit a 3 run homer to ensure the rest of the game was minimum stress. You are talking about the road Cubs Interesting that you didn't mention how he shutout the best team in the NL over 7 innings and struck out 10 in his last start. Oh and Wieters caught that one too.
Gleyber Torres.. Full year: .283/.349/.524/.872, 26 HRs in 108 games vs. Baltimore: .414/.485/1.138/1.623, 13 HRs in 16 games vs. the rest: .261/.326/.420/.746, 13 HRs in 92 games
