  1. Kind of funny that they haven't had any conversations about making him an offer but haven't closed the door on the possibility. I guess that makes sense. Maybe if they're awful again they'll sign him in August to create buzz. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yea I recall Campana being upset in round 2 or something. Also for anyone who might worry its a sign we'll play small ball I think Sveum pretty much explicitly stated last year they are doining it primarily to practice defense and not bunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. He also didn't call you horrible at math. He actually said you were good at it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I think the best line in the article is that WAR should start the conversation, and very rarely should end the conversation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. It literally makes no difference. The play doesn't stop after a hold. The play would still play out and still be a safety because of the penalty in the end zone. It was actually brilliant to blatantly hold like that. Ah. Was somehow thinking it would go to the time of the hold, but that makes no sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Not that it makes a huge difference, but Ravens held in the endzone about 6 seconds before the safety. But that TO call hurts too. Should have just taken the delay. Or had your play ready. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Isn't his cap hit about to increase quite a bit? Forget trade, he may just be cut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. As a singular point data point, no. But assuming you have access to all other types of data, your best measure would include a really large variety of stats and data, even though WAR may already be a composite of sorts. I mean, its not like its a standardized thing. The three major publications who produce it produce different numbers and as recently as this season adjustments were put in due to shortcomings related to defensive positioning. WAR may be the single most valuable stat, but I understand the original point that by fans it sometimes is over relied on as an end all stat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. ie- "Wait... wasn't Orlando Pace the Bears version of Orlando Pace?" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. He didn't make it into the top 20 in pass blocking efficiency for the second year in a row. I'm a little worried that he will be the Bears version of Orlando Pace. Wait... wasn't Orlando Pace the Bears version of Orlando Pace? What I meant was: Long = Orlando Pace when he was on the Bears not: Long on the Bears = Orlando Pace Sorry for the confusion. I'm even more confused now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I'd love for you guys to giftwrap Kevin Love to the Cs. You trading Rondo? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Unless you trade them our whole bench, Deng, Boozer or Noah would have to go. And Boston ain't taking Boozer. Edit: I guess they could make a deal headlined by Taj, Rip and someone else but I don't know if that BYC thingie is still something that's an issue with the new CBA (basically makes it really difficult to trade players in the first year of a new deal). Oh and also Boston would laugh if we offered that package. I believe BYC is gone in the new CBA. Or its impact at least negated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I don't even think our entire bench gets us there and even if it did, the trade wouldn't work because of roster number requirements. However, if the Celts do blow it up, and can't move Pierce this year, he'll be available again in the offseason and the Bulls should have more flexibility, including Taj making more. So I'd pursue it in the offseason if it was still there and there weren't better moves available. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'd deal for Pierce and play him and Lu at 2/3 , but Bulls can't really take on salary because they are against the hard cap. Totalling his 16 mil without giving up an already important piece is probably not possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Great Logo. Still disappointed they went with blue and red. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Most times I've sat in the bleachers were for bachelor parties. I think once I sat there just for a normal outing, but I 'd choose the rest of the stadium over it, considering cost. Most places the bleachers are attractive because of cost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I really don't see Emery trading down unless the draft unfolds in a weird manner. Unless the BPA available is a QB or DB, I think you can argue us taking them round one. And if we do trade, it may not be out of the first round, but just down a few spots. I don't think we'll get any additional pick if significance unless a team overpays, which could happen. Really I wouldn't count on anything after about pick 75-85 as being a positive as far as depth for next year goes. Are we gonna trade down and gain a top 85 pick thats worth the difference in however far we have to drop to get a pick of that impact? Mid to late third round the talent differences usually start to level off and its mostly developmental guys. Getting a potential contributor at 90 and 130 isn't all too different. 18. I feel like we can do a little better with the Bobcats pick. I definitely want to trade it before the Bobcats get a franchise talent and turn their team around, but I'd prefer a bigger package, say for Love. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I really think Emery likely did more than just suggest him, but even if we take that as the most involvement a GM has, they should have waited for a GM to suggest OC candidates rather than trust a coach with a horrible offensive track record have autonomy. Especially when its freaking Mike Tice and he's just sitting on your staff already anyways. Maybe they were just trying to give Lovie enough rope to hang himself though. It's hard for me (and, I suspect, several others) to believe you can hold to that, especially after seeing what Emery's idea of an offensive coaching hire looks like. Tice in no way, shape, or form resembles what Emery wants to do on that side of the ball, and Trestman proves that. Your second theory is probably closer to the mark -- although I doubt they were actively hoping Lovie would hang himself. They just gave him one more chance to make an OC hire, that's all. And Lovie -- as he had done previously -- blew the hire. Emery certainly didn't block it, but I think that's about all I'd be willing to say. A little late to respond here, but I'm past the Emery having anything to do with Tice as I looked up the timeline and Tice was OC before Emery was on board- which I completely forgot I guess. Then my comments were about the organization letting Lovie fail at another OC choice, this being before Emery was even in the picture. No doubts about Emery's ability to bring in coaches here now. 20. Prorating is probably what makes sense from an accounting standpoint, but payroll figures are likely much more set by cash flows. Although we've been told the cubs will essentially operate ln a multi-year budget in regards to payroll. So it probably doesn't matter as long as the method is consistent. 21. I doubt it. I'm sure it will be at least bleacher cost if not more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. Head coaches hire their staff. That doesn't make the bears stupid in the slightest Not always, and not when said head coach had a poor track record on that side of the ball. Its not like there was some urgency to lose the great Mike Tice that you wouldn't wait for the GM even if its the head coaches final say. Going into last year, it would have been totally reasonable to expect a OC decision to at least have heavy influence from the GM. For instance I highly doubt Trestman was the driving force behind Tucker, even if its ultimately his decision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. If Garza proves he's healthy, you trade him at the deadline and reap the hall of prospects. Well an extension doesn't harm those efforts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Who knows. Maybe they feel the Rooney rule has depleted high level minority assistants and are going to try and push it down to lower level positions to close that gap too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
