  1. Well you may be able to get a decent backup in the middle rounds with some development. We weren't going to spend a 4th rounder on a QB ready and make him a #2 for this season.
  2. Yea, I don't get the Campbell criticism. Although he didn't do much, I'm not blaming that solely on him, as our offense is just bad. We needed a better backup QB and he looked like he could fill that roll, and as it turned out we needed a backup because Cutler keeps getting crushed. Sure if Jay goes out for the year it doesn't matter, but you want a guy who can not blow it for a game or two because playoff chances, and further, home field chances are going to come down to a game difference many times.
  3. Just speed up to the part where we miss out and everyone complains so we get it out of the way and don't ruin Christmas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I'd go Nick Swisher, but I'd kind of rather get a CF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Shocking that we are getting into fringe top 10 and players have question marks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Even if that wasn't the case, a run-off can still make sense. I think he means, last vote = 120 votes= 40 voters (presuming everyone used all 3 votes). This vote =38 votes = 38 voters. Two less voters! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Has Toeania even been active? How was he hurt, haha. Phantom injury? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I'm not too into the retreads. Give me an up and coming offensive guy. I like Shannahan at the moment. Keep Marinelli and whoever he wants on his defensive staff. Keep Toub if he doesn't leave for a HC gig. I'd go for Toub if I thought there was a good offensive guy who we could bring in as coordinator, but not sure how likely that is, plus that just leaves you likely to have your guy poached and lose continuity. Whereas if the offense is the head coaches scheme, you just promote and keep relative continuity. And since Marinelli is never gonna get another HC job you really never risk losing him as long as you are willing to extend his contract. If you ever want to move on from Tampa 2 you can at least plan for it a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. While at the tome the DeRosa trade didn't seem special, hindsight says it was pretty good. I'll take a Chris Archer for Soriano, with the expectation we also fill Sotianos spot with a legit big leage starter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yes, it sucks to have 22 year olds that put up a .859 OPS in AAA. At a position that half the league is scrambling to fill. Including the Cubs. I'm still troubled by the decision to bring up Vitters but not play him. They did play him quite a bit initially. Not as much as Jackson, but he was also not as good. By the time he really started riding the pine, Iowa was pretty much over. I'm not too distraught over him getting 99 AB over two months rather than 120 some AB in Iowa to end the season. 12. Johnson is really intriguing, and I think could easily move quickly in the rankings just by pitching some innings. But at this point with as few pro innings he has still seems like a wild card. Vitters on the other hand is close to major league ready while still being young. His value may revolve largely around his ability to stick at 3B, but he has quite a bit of hitting ability, even if the approach isn't there and may never be. I'm going Vitters, but Johnson isn't far behind because I think he could easily be top 5 after next season. Just want to see more innings first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Can only select one right now.
  14. Seems like it, but does it really matter in this instance? Sure in trades it could be detrimental, but in FA most if the time your final offer is all that matters and the agents going to show your offer to your competitors anyways. I doubt the 77.5m leak changes anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Well you likely already "lose" by signing Gibson to that extension, even if you amnesty Boozer. So there's that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So maybe not 5/75 for jackson but lets go 3/30 and throw the extra 45 at bourn or something Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Hahahaha what the fffffffffffff. Every time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Villanueva Vitters Lake Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Will these guys require 40 man spots? That alone could hamper us at this point I feel. There's some relative deadweight on the 40, but you can't have 1/3 of your non mlbers not be even close to mlb ready Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I'd substitute Noah for Deng, but then I'm pulling back some secondary piece like Miritic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Well you've lost me. I'll just go with Bill James number instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Whats gonna get a Love deal done? Deng, Miritic, Bobcats pick, and 2 first rounders? (If you can keep any of those parts- sub Boozer for Deng, keep the cats pick, you try, but just being realistic about it) Rose MLE-Butler MLE-Butler Love-Gibson Noah-Gibson I'd roll with that going into 2013 as our foundation. Maybe instead of amnestying Booz you can trade for a similarily valued wing player, but I'm more thinking foundation than short term pieces anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Kyle, you bring up some decent points (although I'd like to see how your specific age range was settled upon) However, in the instance of Brown, we know the asset we are talking about giving up is a 37 year old LF with leg problems. And a year ago, his value was no where near this. We could also save 10M that could still go elsewhere. Its an interesting proposal at the very least. Not a slam dunk by any means, though at this point it looks like it probably won't go down, so we should move along and hope Jed gives us an actual deal to discuss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Navy and red? Awful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Must be trying to challenge the Bucks with the worst color scheme in sports Navy and Red is not a terrible color scheme.... http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/299/851/96498986_display_image.jpg?1279144943http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_md1r1w7l9w1rge74zo1_500.jpg http://b.vimeocdn.com/ps/235/655/2356551_300.jpghttp://www.thebestbaseballblog.com/images/dustin-pedroia.jpg Red and or blue are great sports colors. Which is why like 85% of sports teams use either or both in the color scheme. I just like to see something different especially when a team is trying to re- market itself and its local culture essentially could hand it its color scheme. Missed opportunity.
