Its upsetting Marinelli chose to leave, but if that was the collateral damage of changing the overall team's direction, than its worth it. It remains to be seen if Trestman will be the correct choice over Arians or a ton of other candidates, but we weren't going to fix the offense with Lovie in charge. The closest Lovie ever got to putting up an offense was a couple years with Turner. Ironically, I just read yesterday, Lovie interviewed Trestman when talks with Terry Shea almost broke down in 04. Bwahahahaha. So maybe we could have had that dream set up with Lovie's cover 2 and Trestman as HC of the offense, but we're 8 years past that now.
