  1. After thorough research I have decided that this man is my favorite Bear of all time. This will never go over amongst Chicago meatballs who set their watch by Johnny Unitas's haircut. They will almost assuredly mistake his goofiness for being a bad guy. I watched his other Cap 'N Crunch video and im just worried about him developing type 2 diabetes. 2. Another thing I like about these signings, they both were relatively quiet. There was some Bushrod talk, but that was mainly speculative. I don't think I heard any Bennet whispers. Most things the past few days were Long/Cook based.
  3. Yea we probably overpaid a little, but this is okay. As far as future cap hit, well in Cliff Stein I trust. I am worried about Bushrod a little. He was down last year. But compared to other guys who may have big injury concerns, you probably were risking something. I think I'll risk a talent rebound over a injury rebound like Long. He certainly isn't a savior. This feels a bit like the Tait signing. Getting Bennett hopefully means Davis' days are numbered, probably Spaeth's too, as Bennett isn't a receiving only TE. Hopefully Garza is cut, and at this point you probably are still in okay cap space and might as well just hold on to Hester. Shore up depth and the LB spot, but probably no other big signings. And no pressing needs for Rd1 or Rd2 in the draft.
  4. I wonder who they are drafting, Geno or Barkley Geno, I'm sure. Assuming he's available, yea. If he is gone, I'm not sure about Barkley though. I don't think he's consensus number two. And in all honestly, its still the QB position. I won't be shocked if its the 3rd QB by then. I know Arizona is the only other pick before them possibly projecting QB at this point, but most of the other teams aren't exactly set there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I think the idea was for it to be guys who had been in Madden, since this is the 25th anniversary edition. That said, there has to have been a better choice. At least 4 pro bowl 85 defense members played into the Madden era. Can only think Rivera's current coaching status propelled him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. I'd be surprised if Garza gets cut. i'd be surprised if he didn't. Its always hard to tell with centers. There's this weird bias towards protecting the QB/center relationship. I don't think Emery is like that, but you never know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Sure, but we have to be under the cap starting tomorrow at the open of free agency. So we can't go sign some big rich free agent and go over cap and then go back to restructure to get back under. But can't we come to an informal agreement first, then make space? 9. I hope so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. We can restructure at any time though, right. Hopefully discussions have at least progressed enough where they have it lined up when we close on a FA target and need room. I don't mind not having restructures done at this point. It also doesn't address cuts which can be done in a snap- looking at Garza, Davis, Hester Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Are the fans who would revolt that different that the ones who are upset about ads, jumbotron or whatever else? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. We should really cut Garza. Of course you hope you can find a good replacement in the draft, but if you can't is Edwin Williams any worse? No. And I believe we figure to save 2-3m in cap space. And he is arguably our worst OL. Carimi might have played worse, but at least has potential to improve dramatically where Garza will continue to decline. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Winston is the guy who went off at fans for cheering Cassel's injury, in case anyone forgot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I don't see the need to put that much thought into it. There's hasn't been a problem in the past. There is plenty of time to get a multi-round draft done and then at least another new 1-2 rounder leading up to the actual draft. Yea some of those are admittedly complex and time consuming for dew, or whoever runs it. But as mentioned it did slow at times and people complained (and if memory serves others may have complained about picks being made for them too quickly). I think the first idea though is fairly simple and would help keep things moving, while not having a huge impact. 24 hour clock. If you miss, the draft keeps moving. After say 5 picks or 48 hours past your pick, you lose it and the board consensus picks. If your merely a pick late or 12 hours late, you still have control of your pick, with fairly low odds you lost your guy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I usually have Ravens but will fill in wherever as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Random thoughts on increasing speed while still being reasonable, and other thoughts.... Not suggesting to implement all of these, but just throwing thoughts out there- Treat picks like the actual draft. If someone misses their deadline, we don't pick for him, but the draft goes on. If after about 4 picks still no pick is submitted then we can pick. 3-5 picks a day would be a pretty fair pace and if you can't check every 48 hours or so to get a general idea when to show up, don't sign up or understand the draft will keep moving. Honestly in many instances you'd probably still get your guy. Going along with the 48 hour idea, post a schedule every 2 days at some pre-determined time. The times posted on the schedule would be the last possible chance you can pick, meaning If we exceed the pace you wouldn't reset the clock. If you're pretty sure you won't be around when you're pick is up send your big board to someone as close as you can get. Sched could be variable to account for high traffic daysh/hours. Create a system of pairings to utilize consensus picks, even if it means doubling up. You could still have one main person who is the head and tie breaker vote, but if they aren't around the rest of the group could submit the pick. You could have groupings at random or forced pairings. For instance if you sign up for the #1 NFC North team you also get NS3, AW2, and AE4. Likewise the guy who signs up for AE4 gets that same group. Or just encourage posters to join 3-4 teams if they desire. Make the Bears picks 100% consensus. A majority here are Bears fans and may like to have the say in the form of a poll. Ask people to post every 48 hours to affirm their activity. A simple acknowledgement you are actively checking. If you don't post the board picks for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Whats this about the cubs strategy fitting Prior. He's hardly pitched what, in 6-7 years? And not at all in the majors. I don't care what injury examples you can show me from this regime, thats an extreme to a whole other level, and silly to think it fits their strategy. And also has nothing to do with distancing themselves from the last FO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. While I understand that from Cutler's standpoint that doesn't make sense from the team view. If he gets you over the hump his cost will have skyrocketed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Cut Hester, Garza, and Davis Contract extensions for Cutler and Tillman. Sign Melton to extension. Sign Branden Albert. Look for a value signing in the interior. Ideally draft Cooper in the first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Because he's an 18-year-old pitcher. I'd rather go for quantity over quality at that age. But with the Cubs budget allottment, can't they kind of do both? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Is there interest in another NSBB mock draft this year? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Its okay, Prior will never actually be managed by Dusty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. They're too Jewish. You're thinking of Wash U. SLU getting kept out of the new Big East would suck. Screw Creighton. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Also if they do go to Navy,I'd like to see them consider dropping the red. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I like Cubbie blue over Navy. I wouldn't mind an update to the aways though. Would they go Navy on new aways, but keep the current blue on homes? That'd be weird. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
