  1. I think the idea was that Dusty would trust to play Durham more than he would Hairston. Sad that we have to trick Dusty into playing good players.
  2. I have a question about strength of schedule... I would assume that the win% used in calculating the teams the have played doesn't include when they played that team. I dont know if thats clear so say for example that a team who is beating everbody, you would ignore all the losses from that great team. Otherwise teams who are just doing a good job of beating everyone would not have a "weaker schedule" because you only count the oppenents other games. Does this make sense?
  3. I'm thinking like .700 at least. But seriously... Maybe i'm just being biased Cub fan here, but I dont see a .360-.370 out of question. A lot of you guys are assuming he'll falter and drop. I dont feel like running numbers but I'd guess he'd have to hit pretty average to drop to a .330 level. Right now it seems teams are still tryin to figure him out. By the time the do, if they do, I think he'll have enought at bats in to keep his avg high.
  4. Pujols- Ramirez :D Forget that how about 1B-Lee 3B-Ramirez LF-Pujols, basically what I have in MVP except Blalock instead of Ramirez. Also whats up with Pujols being in quotations??
  5. Wrong thread? Im confused.
  6. I'm scared if I get on I might end up in Colorado. :( Now I love Colorado as a state, but I would cry if my cub BandWGN ended up there.
  7. You had me until Patterson. . . After that it was great though.
  8. I will be saddened if we do indeed lose Sisco. But whos to say he will keep this up for his whole career? Or even the rest of this year? Yea, being young he will develop, but he was developing nicely in our minor leagues, got lazy, developed a bad attitude and got worse. What if the Royals make him their primary reliever, or make him a starter at some point this year or next. He will do well for a while once they show confidence in him. But what about a while after that? Will he get lazy and balloon his weight and drop? Will it take a trade to motivate him again at that point? I'm not saying thats necessarily the case, but apparently that is what it took this time. What if he becomes a career average pitcher who lacks motivation to do well. Sounds like a headache we could live without. Or he could still just falter as a starter. What if he just becomes a great reliver in this league, but nothing more? A tough loss still, but not like losing a Randy Johnson. He's gone, okay I'm pissed, but I'm gonna wait before I say we lost something REAL special. Not trying to say I support this move, it blew up in Hendry's face(for now), but maybe ultimately maybe Sisco will just be a concerous headcase that no one ever wants.
  9. Please I would love you see you name them. Harvey and Kelton? Name four more please.
  10. Is there anything fans don't know about the Juan Cruz trade that you may have isight about? Pratt has definatley dissappionted us. Were there issues besides Juan Cruz as a player? Do the Cubs have high hopes for Lewis? Did they just want another lefty in the pen?
  11. Also, lets hope Hawkins isnt offered arbitration. Even if he is, he'd be worth it.
  12. thanks for the info so theoretically we could get four 1st-2nd round picks from Veres and Guthrie?
  13. Can anyone explain to me what it means to be a type A,B, or C FA?? Is it for draft compensation?
