    It's pretty obvious from whoever it was (Vance?) who posted that ramblings row of exclamation points right above his MS Paint illustration of Zito as a Cub. Actually its a direct quote.

    Even more intersting than his home/away splits is his vs right/lefty spilts. Against lefties he'd be a great top of the order guy, whereas vs. righties he is a slightly below average slugger. It seems like if you wanted to maximize his talent you'd have to swich him in the order, but that kind of stuff can always mess with a player.

    Neify wants to be a Cub. Hawkins also wanted to be a Cub. Turns out he didn't wanna be a Cubs closer though... Maybe we could say that players with actual talent who want to play for the Cubs, but only in the position they want... do well. Todd Hundley had enough talent to hit 40 homers in a season, wanted to play for the Cubs, played catcher and was probably the worst regular position player in the history of the franchise. So you're saying theres no proof to such a strategy! (That was kinda my point by making so many 'rules' to it)

    You'll find these results surprising Kearns Home/Away Home: .233 .307 .444 .752 Away: .246 .354 .459 .813 note- the three years splits are not as drastic, but he is still slighty better.

    NO WAY WOULD HENDRY TRADE NIEFI!!!!! Now call me crazy, but this morning I was eating my alphabet cereal, and the following message was in my bowl. dleearampriorzam4.... the four was an actually an upside down "H" that was broke and looked like "h".... thats all there was, but my good friend in Ethiopia said his alphabet cereal said done. Done sounds like Dunn, so I'm still waiting on my friend in Tawain to confirm with his alphabet cereal, but it looks like a DUNN deal! We are getting Dunn. OMFG!!!!111!11!>?#!!1 DUNN IS DONE!!!! HAHAHA OML IM HILARIOUS!!!! Hes Saving the ballclub BABYYYYY!!!!121>2!#@!#4!!!!!! YEA! (none of you believe me but..)

    Well then those prospects must be worth something. I'm glad Walker wasn't wasted to get Bradley, he is worth more, I think. Bradley would have been nice, but with attitude issues far from perfect. Wilkerson for CF please, hes better for the top of the order anyway and without Furcal its more important to get that from CF now. EDIT- after looking at the stats, I don't know what I was talking about, Bradley would be just as good for the top of the order.

    I am definately in the minority, but I think Sing has the potential to be a solid major leaguer, even as a starter. He gets on base and has lots of power. Now hes pretty old, 25-26 by now? So he doesn't have the oppurtunity to falter another year, but if he keeps hitting he could be ready as a major league backup later this year. I could him becoming a .850+ OPS player if it all pans out and at least a 800+ OPS. Would have liked to see him on the 40man. Hopefully he can't stick anywhere.

    Who knows, maybe Kearns could rebound like Barrett did after he got traded here. Still I like him only as option C or D

    I won't call Hendry a moran or anything until after the offseason is complete, but I have a feeling that I once it is over, I will. Prove me wrong please Hendry!

    Is this supposed to be serious? If it was a serious statement then I'd say keep him away. I don't want a guy whp is gonna let girlfriend issues effect his play.

    If thats what they were seeking, I'd counter offer with Mitre and Wellymeyer. Why,Nolasco hasn't pitched a day of ML ball? I know Welly is inconsistent but he has to be worth more than Nolasco. Wellymeyer could probably fit in as a back of the rotation starter (somewhere) next year. Save Welly for another deal. Pie hasn't appeared in the majors yet while Patterson has, but I bet Pie has much more trade value. Same could be said for Macias/Eric Patterson, or Rusch/Gallagher, and many other "experienced" players vs unknowns. Welly's service time hasn't exactly been steller. We'd rather have Nolasco to use in the future in case we have trouble paying for all our guys. They'd rather have Welly who could potentially come in and start/ spot start. Sounds like a perfect fit.

    I don't get the hate for Mitre. Yea I'd send him in a deal for a RF, because he otherwise he would likely be a casualty of the 25man roster. But he doesn't suck. He is pretty servicable. He can be a valuable end of the roataion type guy, especially now because he is cheap.

    Oh man, I would really love Wilkerson on this team. One of Wilerson/Bradley and one of Abreu/Dunn would be fantastic. Depending on how we resolve 2B/SS would decide who was a better fit between Wilkerson/Bradley

    How about going one up and trading for pitching prospects for Dunn and including Murton in a trade for Abreu?? =P~ I like it! Also, I agree with what other have said, Kearns is a good C or D option. Thats only IF we get a solid CF bat and either keep Walker or find another valuable player for 2B(i.e. not Neifi)

    Interesting. I could have sworn that someone here had personally watched him play and attested that his D in LF was okay. Also that he was at least average at 1B.

    I don't know if it would be quite as fun. A lot of the fun of this thread was volleying insults at M4D for his ludicrous "sources", a luxury we wouldn't have if the rumor creator wasn't actually taking his "information" seriously. Yea I suppose you're right. If I have nothing to do tomorrow evening I may whip out my paint 'skills' and throw together a story of the events tonight though, that my be good.

    If you guys want some more laughs, go read the actual post on cubs.com from that "australian" guy. He used reasoning as to why he heard it before us because over there they are "further ahead timewise".

    Are you assuming that Zito is really a Cub? I think it was a joke. Which I don't get, because who would joke around with something like that!
