  1. Looked good and pretty flat to me. I could see the whole field pretty easily.
  2. If your son is an Illinois resident they're not going to let him buy beer. I turned 21 over 2 months ago but was told at Wrigley that I couldn't buy beer because my ID says "Under 21 Until January 31, 2008". When I explained that it says UNTIL a date that has already passed, the manager told me that while "there was no denying" that I'm 21, it's the policy of the house not to sell to anyone who has "under 21 until" on their ID. It's probably the dumbest policy I've ever heard of -- in place no doubt to prevent the morons who check IDs from getting "confused". The result is that now I either need to go to the DMV to get a license that isn't expired, get someone to buy me beer, or use a fake -- which are never sniffed out. I'm guessing they did that because kids used to doctor the red IDs to make them look like they were over 21. My ex (and all her friends, actually), who was born in 84, used a red pen to fill in the number 4 so that it looked like a 1 (since the b-date is in white numbers on a red box). Viola, real fake ID that always worked, despite the fact that the ID still had the right "under 21 until" date on it. Probably only worked because they were girls. Anyway, zero tolerance on red IDs = none of that crap.
  3. They look great - not too big at all. Nice photos. Thx.
  4. I'm just guessing but it's probably because Ryan Theriot has outperformed Ronny Cedeno at the major league level. Just a guess... If Theriot is just short of terrible, that makes Cedeno what - far short of terrible then? This is not a difficult argument. Ryan Theriot is a below average baseball player - we all know that. However, he is the best shortstop the Cubs have and better than Cedeno. LOL ya, it must mean nothing that Cedeno has outperformed Theriot everywhere else, and at a younger age. Theriot obviously just has what it takes to succeed at the major league level, while Ronny doesn't. Damn all those crazy minor league numbers that say Ronny is far better at baseball. It's a different game in the minors. They're not playing baseball. Or something.
  5. I don't know I would probably still rather sit in the bleacher's. The atmosphere out there just kicks butt. I absolutely hate the bleachers. I've sat there maybe 4-5 times. It sucks having to get there incredibly early to get close up. It sucks having to wade through tons of people to get everywhere and hope that your spot is still there when you come back (particularly when you're there with a couple friends and a few of you get up to make a beer run). It sucks not being able to lean back at all. Everything about it sucks, except maybe the "atmosphere," which, while cool, isn't nearly enough to make up for all that other crap. /rant I'll take the Field Boxes or Upper Deck any day (just no Terrace Reserved, plz, they blow).
  6. Ok, apparently they don't work, even though I reloaded a million times to make sure. Ugh. EDIT - Or maybe they do. You guys let me know.
  7. No problem. Have fun. OK, resized and rehosted for you d-bags. Hope these work (different host).
  8. Nah. These will have to do, brah.
  9. Best I've ever had in my life and probably best I ever will have. Picked em up the morning they put the dugout boxes on sale. Value dates FTW
  10. Because he runs really hard and is short.
  11. It's beyond me how people insist that Ryan Theriot is better than Cedeno at baseball. So Theriot proved that he can be just short of terrible (at times) at the MLB level last year. Whoop-de-doo. He was lucky to be not bad when he was. He's going to prove to suck even worse this year. He's bad. Those of you who think he's worth a crap can continue to delude yourselves and believe he just, somehow, has a skillset that would allow him to succeed in the highest level of baseball but that made success elude him in the lower ranks. Whatever you want to tell yourselves. It's funny, because I never realized that the minor leagues aren't baseball and that those performances don't count. Because, if they did, Cedeno's resume would blow Theriot's out of the water.
  12. 1. At least he didnt throw down his glove and stomp on it in a cartoonish moment 2. beween Soriano, Zito, and Schmidt, the '06-'07 Offseason wasted a lot of $ 3. Following in the footsteps of the great Augie Ojeda. I dont want to watch when we play Cincy and get smoked by C-Patt 4. Daryle Ward could steel home on that guy 5. it hapens. 6. its called 100 years of frustration 7. annoying, uneducated whichever 8. true. 9. eh Please. Soriano's contract is nowhere near the monumental wreck that those two are. It's not even close. Not yet, at least.
  13. Jeez, they are ginormous, but I'm way too lazy to resize and rehost.
  14. Too early for me to complain, so I'll just decline to comment on today's game. Here are a few pics I took. EDIT - Ok, here are smaller ones. Hope they work. http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQPPQxPPaxnlJxv8uOc5xQQQGeell0JoGlqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPan%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442 http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQPPQxPPaxnlJxv8uOc5xQQQGeell0JoGnqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPnl%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442 http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQPPQxPPaxnlJxv8uOc5xQQQGeell0JoloqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPnl%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442 http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQPPQxPPaxnlJxv8uOc5xQQQGeell0JolJqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPnl%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442 http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQPPQxPPaxnlJxv8uOc5xQQQGeell0JoeGqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPan%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442 http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQPPQxPPaxnlJxv8uOc5xQQQGeell0JoalqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPna%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442 http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQPPQxPPaxnlJxv8uOc5xQQQGeell0n0neqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPne%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442 http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQPPQxPPaxnlJxv8uOc5xQQQGeell0nJPoqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPne%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442
  15. Prior was neither a year removed from college (well, college baseball) nor a rookie in 2003. Had he been, he would've been a consensus ROY, but yea.
  16. Did Prior really need "settling down?" He wound up throwing ball 4 in an incredibly long AB against Castillo...Then he goes 0-2 on Pudge and happens to give up a hit, (which, IIRC, scored Pierre). That's just bad luck. Hits happen over the course of the game. You could argue that Prior shouldn't have given him anything hittable on 0-2 I guess, but I'm pretty sure the pitch was low and outside. Of course, Pudge seemed to hit everything low and away that series. Then he induced a DP ball from Cabrera. Maybe you can make an argument that a visit was warranted after Gonzo botched the DP ball, as that would obviously add to the frustration immensely, but, as someone else mentioned, I'm pretty sure a visit was made (albeit by Rothschild) at that point, anyway. Before the Gonzalez error, however, there really wasn't huge cause for concern. It was a minor jam at that point, IMO.
  17. It could very easily have made no difference whatsoever.
  18. You can't be serious. There's no way he's going to attempt to steal a base every single game for the rest of the year and get caught each and every time. Give me a break. That's just not going to happen. Even if he did it for like 30 games, don't you think they'd red light him at some point? http://home.comcast.net/~davhern2/wtf.gif COME ON!!! You people need to relax!
  19. You must meet a lot of stupid people. I don't know anybody who actually blames that collapse on Bartman.
  20. Can't say that I swing that way, omph.
  21. I'd be willing to blow him away and get ripped off (a little) if it means we have a rotation of Z, Lilly, Harden, Hill, X for the length of this window we have right now.
  22. Ah, nevermind. They clinched on a Friday night. So that Hill game must have been on Saturday and there must've been some Sunday game I forgot about.
  23. And yes, I realize I could just go on BR and check that out for myself, but I'm too damn lazy.
  24. Are the Cubs? Last regular season game, three playoff games, and first regular season game. So yes. Am I nuts? I thought they won the last game. Didn't Rich Hill have a no-no going? A bunch of rookies dressed like pink bunnies and stuff at the end of the game? Or did they lose and I just didn't care because, well, we had just made the playoffs?
  25. Must be the selective moderation :-s Nah, I just > you at bending the rules, I guess. You idiot. Ban, plz.
