i think the reason for the (over, possibly) reaction stems from last year. if i remember right, marmol was really leaned on last year to the point where people were wondering if he was being over-used. then lou starts off this year by putting him out there four of the first six games and intends to use him again today, making it five out of seven. Exactly.
When, if ever, are we gonna see Geo swap places with DeRosa? I know DeRosa's stats (huge sample) look a lot better than Geo's right now, but Geo has hit into bad luck and has been absolutely crushing the ball. Personally, I'd rather see him up after Fuku than DeRosa.
I wouldn't call this week "crap week." It could've been better, but it could've been worse. Finishing the week, 3-3, is pretty solid first week, IMO. Winning today salvaged the week. Had we lost, it would've continued to be a crap week.
I think that sham closer post might just become NSBB's version of "If Zambrano starts, your in trouble..." Where is that post? vance bumped the first anti-Wood rant and reference to the "sham" competition. Jim Sorgi bumped the first actual use of the term. I guess we'll have to pick one as the "official" one.
...even though he's just stating the obvious and basing it on 4 games worth of stats. He's at least got the right idea and I'm glad to see Theriot's shortcomings pointed out to some extent, at least. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-080404-aramis-ramirez-steve-bartman-chicago,1,7169799.story
Ugh, why? This starter is a righty, as far as I can tell. Either Lou is already going away from him or Pie is hurting more than we thought from the HBP. Either way, I don't likey.
haha, it would get ugly. Where has DoucheBagman been? (apologize in advance if you guys are offended) Pretty sure he got banned for calling everyone a bunch of sticks. Would you please point me to that thread? That sounds like a whole lot of fun! Wasn't it in the infamous Brian Roberts thread? Technically, no. I believe it was in the infamous "sliding into first is better" thread, which was an offspring of the Roberts thread.
