  1. Haha I just saw this posted in yesterday's thread and said the same thing. That doesn't even make sense.
  2. And they only managed to score three runs. How is that possible?
  3. Interesting. Hasnt Ross been catching Arrieta recently? Maybe it's because they trust Montero calling the game more than Schwarber Ross is on the bereavement list.
  4. I had no idea about Christopher Walken. Jake Johnson from New Girl has written a few guest articles on Grantland, and he seems like a pretty decent Cubs fan. Dave Eggers, the writer, has also written one, and he does not seem like a pretty decent Cubs fan.
  5. Jose Fernandez just homered off Matt Cain.
  6. Yeah, I get the feeling that a few of the projections on Kiley's list aren't necessarily done deals, and more of his best guesses based on current info. On Twitter, he indicates that there are still other teams pursuing Lucius Fox as well.
  7. He updated the board to project Eddy Martinez to the Dodgers. EDIT: And a few other minor projections, including Fernando Tatis Jr. to the White Sox.
  8. Where would they move though? Is there another market that really makes that much more sense or would really support a team that much better? San Antonio, Charlotte, and Portland are the biggest metro's without a team. I'm not counting Riverside since that's LA, more or less. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Metropolitan_Statistical_Areas Interesting that there are 13 metro's bigger than Milwaukee, which is the smallest MLB metro. Charlotte is a great city. They average close to 10,000 for AAA games (which is a gorgeous ballpark BTW). The link I posted earlier shows that Charlotte is dead last in AAA attendance with 3800. I think that's for 2013. They moved into a new stadium for 2014. This link has them at 9700 last year and 3800 in 2013: http://ballparkdigest.com/201409057676/attendance/news/2014-affiliated-attendance-by-average
  9. you should take another break from baseball until his contract is up.
  10. Which teams will be restricted from spending beginning on July 2?
  11. I don't hate the guy, but there's no excuse for losing this series. And there's really no excuse to get blown out by a team without Irving for three quarters and with LeBron off for most of the night. I won't miss his stubbornness. Hopefully Hoiberg can at least coach a little bit of offense. Pretty sure the Hoiberg thing has lost almost all steam. So is there a current favorite? Also any chance we trade Thibs and get a pick? FWIW [tweet] [/tweet]
  12. haha Why is this funny? We'd be pissed if some AA pitcher broke Rizzo's wrist in ST and he missed a month+ of the season. Is Pence some kind of crazy racist person/ holocaust denier or something like that? Or am I thinking of someone else. Luke Scott?
  13. My least favorite Cub maybe ever. Neifi Perez? Nefi could play defense. His main problem was Dusty. Jeff Blauser Coye Hill Tyler Huston Brian McCray Mike Scott lol you mean Koyie? and Gary?
  14. Guerrero Jr. will be eligible to sign with a major league team as an international free agent on July 2, 2015. Niceeeeeeeee. Have the Cubs been connected to him at all? I didn't see anything in a quick google search. He's been heavily linked to Toronto, if I'm not mistaken.
  15. Strikeouts aren't really a big concern for Castro.
  16. Rollins to the Dodgers is apparently done.
  17. Lovett would be a nice consolation to missing out on Brunson and Evans. Sounds like he'll wait until spring to decide. I'm not even going to bother getting my hopes up for Bragg. consolation? i'm not so sure. this is him recently at the morgan park open gym. holy [expletive]. yeah, i don't know what to make of him. i feel like there's a decent chance he gets eaten alive once he gets to college, but there's also a chance he's the second coming of frankie williams. i feel like evans and brunson are much safer bets, though. evans and brunson don't have dribbles like that. some dude said that's 300 palmings? lol. college refs don't call that unless you stop the ball and hold it or dribble over your head, those are just crossovers, watch a pro game, you'll see crossovers. those guys he was playing against are mostly d1 prospects themselves, that was Mike Irvin you saw on the sidelines there. no, but he's pretty small and seemed to favor his left side a ton. i'll take him on the roster without thinking twice, but i don't think he's without risk (obviously no high schoolers are, but i'm mostly speaking relative to brunson and evans).
