  1. What does a season ending arm injury have to do with Alzolay? The Cubs posted at least a couple statements about Alzaloy's performance in Iowa, you should check them out. For him being in Iowa, I was jacked he was there and his good stuff was dominating. Not giving guys like Underwood and Clifton credit for improved seasons is unreasonable. Heck, Underwood made his MLB debut and was respectable against the Dodgers. And, you should check yourself about not having "glowing reports". The Cubs brass issued atleast one "glowing report" about Underwood performance to start the year. Oh the cubs had good things to say about players in their farm system? Imagine that.
  2. the t is actually silent it's pronounced david bowie
  3. Reading this article on the Ringer about trading for rentals, and this part gets a big eye roll from me: https://www.theringer.com/mlb/2018/7/16/17571406/trade-deadline-manny-machado-baltimore-orioles-rumor-rental Yes, the Cubs player development system probably wouldn't have been the right place for Torres to maximize his potential, as evidenced by the disappointments of Addison Russell, Ian Happ, and Javier Baez.
  4. For a team with five all stars, the brewers are pretty horsefeathering bad.
  5. A little disappointed sure, he can bet better. But to act like he’s been no good at all and a complete bum like a huge chunk of the fan base has acted is equally obnoxious and out of line. is that happening here? i know brett wasn't speaking about here, but i don't really care what the twitter idiots and everyone's uncle think about quintana. he's been fine. but, given his track record, age, stuff, and health, he really should be the best performer on this staff. instead, this year, he's been less valuable than pedro strop and as valuable as cishek. my disappointment is always going to be relative to my super high, but i think reasonable, expectations for him. i want him to go back to being a super stud.
  6. eh, that's kind of an obnoxious tone. it's been pretty much exactly one full season since he's come to the cubs. he's been worth 2.6 WAR in that full season. relative to his history where he was pretty consistently hovering around 5 WAR per year, it's fair to have some level of disappointment in what he's been for the cubs, particularly this season.
  7. It was. We had perfect health and returned Schwarber for a full season and we didn't play anywhere near our potential until after the ASB. The whole rotation got hurt at some point or was pitching through it (everyone had velo drops, Jake, Hendricks and Lackey all hit the DL, I don’t recall Lester but maybe he did?), Russell, Willy, Rondon also had injuries also brett anderson. that one really hurt.
  8. Looks like the Orioles had obligatory selections in 2008 (George Sherrill) and 2010 (Ty Wiggington). this must be what it's like to be a fan of another team and read "bryan lahair, 2012 all star" cuz who the horsefeathers is george sherrill?
  9. is this another joke i can't tell
  10. get the horsefeathers out of here with this. Jokes, yo. it was a really bad joke.
  11. There was a way to say this without being a [expletive] Sounds like you need a safe space. The internet may not be for you, little girl. get the horsefeathers out of here with this.
  12. I’ve never been a huge JA Happ fan, but I’m kinda into this, assuming the cost isn’t too high.
  13. But Almora is 8th in PA. that feels about right to me.
  14. the only cub who has played in more games than him this year is javy. this complaint needs to die in a fire.
  15. Honestly, just let him wear it today. Keep him out there til his arm falls off. I’m so sick of this horsefeathers taxing our bullpen.
  16. Two cue shots. Pretty crap luck if you ask me. i'm going to go with mojo's "he sucks until he doesn't" principle, luck be damned.
  17. With the off day tomorrow I’m a little surprised we didn’t just throw Farrell or Underwood out there today to get Jon and the rest of the rotation an extra 1-2 days of rest. But then where would our offense come from? But really, with two days off this week, that should give everyone plenty of rest.
  18. Since May 29, .342 / .381 / .523 (excluding today’s 4-hit game).
