    considering the Giants lineup, and lack of 'star' power without Bonds, let's hope they go after A-Rod with the money, not Fukudome. besides, Fuku is not NEARLY old enough to play on that team... For the record, how old IS Fukudome?

    i could count at least a dozen people on this board who i'd rather have as cubs' gm than jim hendry. me being two of them. Little Lord Fontenot for sure.

    I don't remember because I've blocked it out of my memory, but didn't Augie Ojeda kinda own us in the playoffs?

    If Wood injures his arm one more time his carreer would probably be over. I'd prefer him in the bullpen for, at the bare minimum, one more year. I'm pretty sure every pitcher in the majors would prefer to be a starter over a reliever, but in Wood's case I think he should just be thankful he still has the ability to even throw a baseball.

    We need vast improvements. We had no business in the playoffs this season, and Milwaukee will be a lot better next year.

    Ah, I get it. The Cubs are doing the ol' "make the division seem locked up then choke it up in dramatic fashion" routine. I kid, I kid. Great job Cubs. For the first time in a real long time, I don't get embarrassed in pubic when I mention I'm a Cubs fan.

    According to MLB07: The Show, if you make the playoffs our payroll limit increases at least 8%, whereas if we don't it could possibly go down. So yes, let's make the playoffs.

    How bout putting Dempster in a non-save situation??? Terrible decision tonight. Thank God it worked out. Is it too much to ask a guy to get the job done with a 4 run lead? Then if Lou doesn't put Desmpster in, out come the "Dempster needs regular work" excuses. dempster has been pitching just about every game; i dont think you're going to hear that excuse I wouldn't put it past some of the posters here to say that, actually.

    actually the Cardinals got themselves out, Dempster had nothing to do with it. Dempster making good pitches sure did help the Cards get themselves out, though.

    I don't get it either. Why is a team that has a "6 man rotation" using pitchers on 3 days rest back to back? Doesn't make any sense.

    I remember a picture of Ramirez jumping towards home plate and high fiving Felix Pie after hitting that walkoff. It used to be my desktop, but then I had to reformat my harddrive. Where can I find that pic?
