Ive seen The Cubs, Indians, Devil Rays, Athletics, and Pirates at Jacob's Field, PNC Park, and Three Rivers Stadium. No, I have not been to Wrigley. I will eventually, though.
Wait..when I posted that link it said that he was officially a Met, but then i left the page, posted it, and click back on it and it's back to just saying that they got a 2 hour extension. But on the front page of mets.com it still says that it's official. Confusion going on at the moment, apparently.
You forgot the misspellings and complaints of misspellings I'm also calling for a Brian Roberts joke somewhere along the lines. I find all of these jokes pretty funny, for the record. So it's not like I'm complaining.
1. 6 or 7 people quote GEOVANY SOTO 2. 4 or 5 people complain about how that joke isn't funny anymore 3. 2 or 3 people chime in to say it was never funny 4. one more person quotes GEOVANY SOTO 5. Topic dies. That's my prediction for this thread.
Wow, this topic is long! This topic is a monster that will eat everything in its path! This topic will not die! This topic is like a slasher killer that won't die! I love this topic! This is the BEST. TOPIC. EVER!
So, just to clear up some confusion on my part Mr. wrigley23, what part of: "He plays in the worst hitting park in the majors and that screws over his numbers. His away numbers are much more impressive." and "We realize he's not the best in the league but his great defense makes up for it, plus he's a pretty large upgrade over Theriot." don't you understand?
Wasn't the fact that the Marlins had dug themselves into a big early hole and had practically given up the only reason that Dontrelle Willis was even pitching for the major league team originally? I doubt he would have ever cracked the Cub's ML roster in 03.
Can we go back to the cubs.com MB days and start calling him MacPhail (-ph, +f, stupid word filter) for dragging this on for so long and, reportedly, asking for ridiculous trades?
Yep, we traded him to Montreal in the Nomar deal. He had Achilles tendons problems followed by elbow reconstruction surgery if I remember correcty. ....although the achilles issue might be made up in my head.
I remember him because I used to confuse him with Carlos Zambrano. They looked alike and they both had out of control fast balls. I think we move him in the Nomar deal.
