  1. It was terrible move laughed at by many at the time it happened. It was never a smart move. I never considered it a terrible move. We got rid of a crappy catcher with a crappy history and got in return a crappy catcher with a great history. It did have potential to turn out well for us. Whether Hendry(aka Hendry's scouts) saw something that said Kendall would turn it around, or if this was sheer good luck, it turned out to be a very good move for us.
  2. Good call
  3. Yeah, we're pretty fortunate to have our two franchise pitchers (one of them reduced to a relief role to salvage what there is remaining of a career once filled with potential) are sitting on the DL most of the season.
  4. Hm.. it's true. Gotta feel bad for Floyd though. Kasper said his father is now "gravely ill." :(
  5. I hate basketball, so I won't be viewing the site at all, but I like SecondCityBasketaball or something to that affect much more than the other options. SecondCityHoops sounds much better. (edit)
  6. He hit a 3 run homer today. That's completely ridiculous. Even the prospects for the cardinals that are complete busts turn to gold. I hate that team Good for him though.
  7. I wouldn't expect Floyd to get much playing time from here on out. Lou has to be as aggravated by his little league caliber swings as we are, and they definitely don't want that option to stick.
  8. Not a bad lineup at all for the current players available. Hopefully it stays this way for a while, with Patterson replacing Fontenot every once in a while (Unless Ramirez is back soon)
  9. He broke his elbow on my birthday. That was the last day of my senior year in highschool, too. And I broke my thumb that day in one of the more painful ways I can think of. It was an eventful day =[
  10. You want Prior to come back as a AAAA power hitting corner OFer? I think he's saying that he wants Prior to have some balls. Ankiel's a great story, but probably won't pan out long term. Regardless, Ankiel has shown tremendous heart by coming back from his public humiliation, plus his crack-head of a father making life hell. Ankiel had a lot of excuses to quit, and nobody would/could blame him, but he still made it back to the show, and earned his way up. Sure which mark Prior had that kind of heart. You have to be kidding with that BS about Prior. Prior broke bones in his elbow after getting hit with a batted ball and pitched one month later. He ran into Marcus Giles, flipped over him, and landed directly on his throwing shoulder, and pitched the next inning. He isn't lacking heart, and he's working hard to get back to where he was. Your statement about Prior's "heart" is possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever read here.
  11. I don't remember that Angel Guzman/Carlos Zambrano thing
  12. I'd prefer to wait until we're actually not in contention anymore. Sad as it is, we can pull to within 1/2 a game tonight.
  13. Just played their 16th game in a row, and the mediocre offense has turned into an absolutely terrible offense. I'm hopeful that we can get a split in Colorado, end this road trip 2-5 (yuck), get a much needed day off, and get things rolling again at home against Cincinnati. Just tossing it out there. 20 games in 20 days SHOULDN'T be anything that an MLB player can't handle, but it really does seem like it's affected us.
  14. It wasn't, but none you you guys are really that funny. Little wonder this site is considered the home of teens, by many including those in the media and at the team. I won't waste another second(I know none of you care) responding to what he said. I would love for you to find one person in the media or on the Cubs that has referred to North Side Baseball as "the home of the teens."
  15. So even if we vote him in, the Cubs could decide to pick somebody else?
  16. I'd be revisiting the Ryan Church and Jermaine Dye deals. Though it's unlikely either will make it to us through waivers.
  17. Oh, I see why I couldn't figure out how to vote. On my firefox, the thing where you can select the past two day's highlights blocks it.
  18. I'm assuming they'll release results Friday night or Saturday morning.
  19. Ok, for real, how do you get to the voting from the Cubs.com main page? I've tried to find it the past two days and either I'm blind or they're hiding it very well. That said, I voted for Vance on Firefox and on IE. I have ten computers at work that I can vote on, so I'll submit a vote from each when I go in about 3 hours.
  20. I dislike Bonds, and I've always thought that huge arm pad to "protect" an arm he injured years ago was quite ridiculous. That said, the only advantage I see it providing is that he doesn't fear getting hit so he can stand right over top the plate.
  21. Ironic because there are certain players who get quite a bit of PT that make mistakes consistently and still get run out there. But those said players have had past success in the ML. And Murton hasn't?
  22. This is Pie's first year at the major league level. He has plenty. It doesn't go by how many times you get sent up/down. It goes by years. You could be called up and down 10 times in the same season and it would only take one option.
  23. Fortunately, one run won't win this game. Unfortunately, the 8 runs Marquis gives up next inning will.
