Quoting someone who said it better than me. "The problem with the wave is that once it gets started, it's divorced from what is happening on the field. You have a bunch of people doing the wave, and the opposing team scores a run, and they're still doing it."
Pie went 1 for 4 with a walk Soto went 2 for 3 with a 2B, HR and a walk. They scored 4 of their 5 runs off Mark Mulder, who went 4 IP and gave up 4 Hits, 4 BB, K'ed 2, and gave up Soto's HR.
Konerko did miss the bag, but from what I saw, Abreu slid over the bag and his foot came off the base. Konerko did have his foot on the base when Abreu came off the bag. If Abreu touched the base at all, then Konerko would have to tag him if he came off of it.
FWIW, in McKamey's prospect book he rates Pagan's defense about average, with this comment: "Tracks-down flyballs in all directions, though his arm comes up a bit short in CF".
Anyone have any idea what the average IsoD is for a Major Leaguer? Pie has been consistently around .060 while being 2-3 years young for his level. I can't imagine .060 is well below average, even among starting players.
No love for Guzman? Injuries man. I've been on board with moving him to the pen since last year. I think he could work out well in that role, but even a good reliever doesn't have as much value as a decent starter, so he bottoms out on mine.
I don't see any mention of what they need to do to be eligible however. Perhaps they must finish in the top 8 to get there? I have to be missing something here.
