  1. Pie finished 2 for 4 with a double.
  2. Jacque Jones is now 1 for 3 billion in outfield throws.
  3. I don't see any mention of what they need to do to be eligible however. Perhaps they must finish in the top 8 to get there? I have to be missing something here.
  4. This doesn't make any sense at all, but too many smart people are agreeing with it, so I'm going to have to read it 8 more times. aaaaaaaaand now I get it.
  5. There's been some speculation about it, but I have a hard time believing the Cardinals don't pick up his option.
  6. Yeah, I think it was a greatest chases thing, that guy was the best of the 80's.
  7. His hot streak can be tied to an incredibly high BABIP too: BABIP By Month- April .184 May .217 June .333 July .351 August .529 (through the 6th) Somehow his overal BABIP is only .292, but when those numbers by month come back down to earth I think his production will plunge. He also hits alot more flyballs than linedrives which will catch up to him IMO when he starts playing against better fielding players. Agreed, that's part of what I was referencing when I wast talking about his hot streak being batting average driven.
  8. Singular in one clause and plural in the other. Fred, Fred, Fred. He's not British. No matter how much I watch, the UK soccer announcers using the singular when referring to the team still throws me.
  9. He's seeing 3.39 pitches per plate appearance, so he's the least patient Cub besides Neifi Perez. Just sayin. Well, that's what I'm saying. I was expecting a very impatient hitter because of his low P/PA. However, he tends to either hit a lot of strikes early in the count-but if he gets past a couple pitches, he tends to work the count very well. For a person with a low P/PA, he seems to have a pretty good command of the strike zone, and uses that as he gets deeper in the count. So he's a very patient hitter, except in the at bats that he's not patient. FWIW, he's at 3.51 if you include today.
  10. I think someone who was intellectually honest would notice that Harvey's hot streak is tied directly to his batting average, and that even though he's played well there's no indication that he's turned any corner for what ails him, which is plate discipline. If Harvey had started the year hitting .400/.440 with nearly 7 times as many K's as walks, there would've been plenty people talking about the inevitability of his numbers taking a severe dive.
  11. Well, Brasic has Zook, and he'll be needing to chuck the ball down the field to try to come from behind all season.
  12. Bill Hall is Alfonso Soriano if Alfonso Soriano never played for the Yankees.
  13. Why? Are you another who thinks of them as just their ed sullivan/ boyband days in 1964 singing "she loves you"? I don't like their sound at all. I don't like listening to them or hearing about them.
  14. Cut for Cap Space QB- Donovan McNabb RB- Julius Jones RB- Willie Parker RB- Joseph Addai WR- Terrell Owens WR- Andre Johnson WR- TJ Houshmandzadeh WR- Lavaranues Coles TE- Alge Crumpler
  15. Why would the Angels want him? Colon, Lackey, Weaver, Santana, Escobar
  16. Words are meaningless without action. While I think that when players get hot they walk less(because they're smashing the good pitches they get), Murton's shown through his actions to be a patient hitter. On the other hand, most of Baker's nonsense gets reinforced with his baffling decisions.
  17. Soto's 2 for 2 with a HR and a walk, Iowa leads 3-2 in their half of the 8th. Soto up with runners on the corners and no one out. Ryu has gone 8 IP, 5 H, 7/1, and 1 ER(2 R) on a HR And now Soto hits a sac fly.
  18. even the Nelson Twins?? What about Take That or Hanson? anyone How about ? I said anyone but the beatles
  19. even the Nelson Twins?? What about Take That or Hanson? anyone
  20. I thought it was a Will Ferrell joke? No, it's from a beer commercial.
