There were only 39 people on the 40-man roster because Miller is on the 60-day DL. Interesting that Williams or Ryu wasn't recalled... I think it was a matter of finding the guy who had the appropriate rest. -

pfft, that's optimism, seeing the Cubs win a meaningless August game is nothing compared to seeing how many innings they can play, or seeing what happens if anyone on the field were to get hurt right now.

I didn't mind the zone until a couple innings ago when Guz started getting squeezed a little while the Astros zone got a little generous. I minded it when Clemens was getting gift wrapped calls waaaay earlier in the game. aka not getting ejected for clearly hitting someone on purpose

It would lower the chance of scoring a run this inning. Compared to letting Z hit? The OBP of a batter has to be pretty low to justify bunting a runner from first to second with no outs. With one out, the OBP threshold is even lower. Z's OBP is pretty bad this year, but it's a small sample size. I think letting Z hit there was the right call, results notwithstanding. And Z knows this park, dude. :lol: .233 OBP in ~325 career PA's.
