  1. Who thinks this way? I think you're giving this mindset much much much more weight than it actually has.
  2. So let's root for our rivals so that we look really bad instead of bad? That's like Italian Television crazy.
  3. Good thinking bunting with the second hitter of the game Ozzie. Grinderball may have cost them another run this inning.
  4. Pathetic AB by Hernandez to end it. Let's go Red Sox!
  5. Eckstein's dad's name is Whitey. I don't know why I find that so hilarious, but it is.
  6. Haha, I saw that he was doing the game and was glad I already had the volume way down. Some of it can be high comedy though.
  7. And Grudz rolls into a DP right before I change the channel.
  8. 4-0 Cards on a ball that barely cleared the infield. I can't believe they've scored 3 runs in this inning.
  9. If Sanders gets a hit, I'm done watching this. loaded with one out still.
  10. Wow, that was something. 2-0 Cards on a crazy WP. EDIT: Only one run scored, my bad.
  11. Edmonds with a bloop double to left. 2nd and 3rd one out, now they're walking Pujols intentionally.
  12. He hasn't been great but he's also had errors and bad calls. True, but last inning was two solid singles, and a rope towards the line that turned into a DP. Like I said before, he doesn't look like himself today.
  13. Carpenter doesn't look himself. 53 pitches thru 3, a bunch from the stretch in a hot afternoon game. I wonder how long he lasts.
  14. Roberts has taken off on 3 consecutive 3-2 pitches. DP on a smash to Nunez. Tough break for the Pads. Probably a double if the runners don't go.
  15. That's how I get during March Madness. Every moment is painstaking.
  16. Only 20 more forfeitures until I crack the top 10!
  17. Hobbes looks like he's celebrating that fact. If he is a Cardinal fan I demand you take him out of your sig. Hobbes loves to see good baseball. He's been celebrating the end of the misery that was the '05 Cubs for some time now.
  18. Now Eckstein lets a liner by. Good thing he's so small, otherwise he'd have gotten his teeth knocked out.
  19. What's this, a slow leadoff man with high OBP from a playoff team? Unpossible! And in typing this I miss the call that lands Sweeney at first. TLR is incensed. EDIT: He was out, but if sliding into first is your best option, then something went wrong defensively.
  20. He made it when he had no more Holla/Lawton options. I can't wait for Baker to leave and it can't be soon enough. Exactly, the alternative was Hairston everyday, and those two platooned for a little bit before Murton's performance/Dusty's distaste for Hairston won out.
  21. Okay, there's an Abe Lincoln painting(Lee), and another Abe Lincoln painting with a slight blemish(Pujols). The untarnished painting hangs in my attic while the other is in the White House. Which is more valuable? The untainted painting. If I were to just see the two without any context of their location, I'd pick the unblemished one every time. If both were in the same location, I'd pick the unblemished one. The unblemished painting can't do anything more to it's surroundings than the beauty it provides, and it shouldn't be punished for things out of its control. Likewise, the tainted painting shouldn't be elevated because of things outside its control.
  22. We better nail that 1st pick, because with the cash the Cubs have to spend this offseason, they may not be picking for a while after that 1st choice. Just like we were supposed to be a great team the last two years? I really have no faith in this organization anymore. I think he means the Cubs are going to spend money on Free Agents, meaning that they won't have a pick for a while in the '06 draft after their first rounder.
  23. Does quality wins still factor into the BCS polls? I thought they got rid of all that and just use the Harris and coaches polls, plus the average of six computer polls, minus the hightest and lowest for each team. I really don't know what all is a factor these days. It seems every year something changes to make up for the problems the year before. I didn't mean quality win in the terms of the BCS, but more in the pollsters mindset. Beating OSU coming off a loss when they're likely to be ranked 10-15 would not be as beneficial as beating them coming off a win when they're possibly into the top 5. If Penn State loses now, they have more time to right themselves in the polls before MSU plays them.
