  1. And now Wisconsin fumbles the kickoff and Illinois recovers.
  2. Go Illini!!!
  3. He's showing his grip in frame two
  4. As always, thanks for all the work!
  5. Mervis, Leeper...who else did we sign as ndfa that year that has had success?
  6. Davis not looking good in LF right now.
  7. Thanks for posting those. It makes me feel a little better about the game, actually.
  8. The game is on Marquee right now for anyone interested.
  9. I can't wait to see him play in Wrigley next year.
  10. Rewind that a few frames to the point where the target decision is made. It's still bad, but it is much less clear than it is in this moment.
  11. If I looked into your posts from last year, would I find you saying the same things about Steele? I have no idea, but you would see the same thing about Thompson and Adbert. Let me try a different angle... What is it in Thompson's skillset makes you think he *can't* succeed as a starter? He's got an adequate pitch mix. He's shown the ability to hold velocity deep into games. It's true that he hasn't shown sustained success in that role yet, but he's shown enough success to have reason to believe. If your argument is that he's so valuable as a multi-inning reliever that it isn't worth trying to convert him to starter, then you'd have to believe that he's massively better in that role because middle-relievers are typically not near the top of the food chain from a value perspective. If your argument is that he's got the makings of a top-notch closer...then I'm really confused. He hasn't succeeded in that role yet, either. What is it specifically in his skillset (as opposed to results to date) that makes you think he's better suited to a single-inning relief pitcher role?

  13. The new coach apparently has a really good knowledge of grass. The field looks as good as I've ever seen Soldier Field.
  14. 92% runs in the red zone on the year?!? Holy horsefeathers (that was before those last three runs)
  15. Fields has not been good. He also hasn't gotten any help from the receivers or line. It's a team effort to be terrible.
  16. Is it too much to ask not to schedule former Packers on the broadcast crew for the Bears? Or at least not show clips of the guy torching the Bears?
  17. That one didn't make the end zone Aren’t they allowed to fair catch in the field of play for a TD or is that a college rule? I'm pretty sure if he fair catches that, Bears get the ball on the three yard line
  18. That one didn't make the end zone
  19. Let's hope he's more impressive than the relievers next time
  20. Neither Canario nor Mervis homered tonight. This is boring. I'm bored.
  21. Bet he’s the first Cub backup catcher to hit a home run in a decisive playoff game. I wonder if the Cubs have ever had three separate catchers play a role in a decisive playoff game
  22. :flythew: :flythew: :flythew: :flythew: We're just not as good at tanking as other teams.
  23. Backup catcher Harrison Wenson, whom I've never paid attention to prior to tonight, has two home runs tonight. The second of which put Tenn up 3-1 up going into the bottom of the 8th
  24. Tenn through 7 with a 2-1 lead
