  1. Ohtani + Bellinger + Yamamoto + Soto would have been nice. 😃
  2. B2B doesn't much care for Jed.
  3. That list tells me...Just draft Caleb.
  4. All of that is true...but I really like Canario. I think he's got a chance to force himself into some playing time. It's a really nice problem to have.
  5. That's beyond what I'm saying. I don't like it, but "huge misstep" is too much.
  6. This is part of why I disliked the Happ extension. Yes, it locked in "good" production. But there were going to be so many options to fill that spot that I just didn't see the need to lock up that position and that salary.
  7. If the Bears are going to make the move from #1, it better be because they're getting more than that. I wouldn't trade down to #2 without adding at least a future #1 to that offer. I don't think there's a huge gap between Maye and Daniels, so Washington would have to beat an offer from NE for me.
  8. This is something I'll agree with. Saying the Royals are outspending the Cubs isn't.
  9. Only by a single, and very silly, definition.
  10. PCA has insurance with Tauchman. Busch has insurance with Morel & Wisdom. If we sign Belli, then he's providing insurance to each of them. The rookies need to break in at some point. I think you put backup plans in place, but at some point you've got to play them.
  11. There's a clause in these contracts that stipulates the team will not tender a contract through the normal process for players with less than six years of service time. So Kim will become a free agent prior to getting six years the same way Bellinger or Schwarber did. With the entry contracts the Asian players sign, it is simply agreed to in advance.
  12. Yeah, but his FA decisions are constrained by which states have legal weed.
  13. I'm perfectly happy with a decision not to sign Chapman at any price.
  14. Man, I wish all those kids would just get off your lawn already.
  15. If he doesn't have 5/10 rights yet, he's damn close. --- edited to add Nope. he's at 9 years, 74 games.
  16. I've seen it mentioned in two threads. 1908 posted it in (I think) the minor league general chat thread, while Raisin posted it in a thread in this area. I think.
  17. Hell of a novelist, too.
  18. I have to say, I looooove having a closer that doesn't walk the tying run into scoring position.
  19. Go get Sasaki next year (or the year after, I forget which). It won't be even, but we'd be head and shoulders over the other 28.
  20. This guy sounds pretty interesting (quote from Bleacher Nation)... I found a clip of Maria on YouTube and he looks QUITE impressive (and the video indicates he only just turned 17(!) while touching 96 mph, good lord!😞
  21. It's also just a couple of innings when facing a lineup with Trout, Betts, Goldy, etc.
  22. Here's a different one for you. I wouldn't leave the first pick unless I get a hell of a deal...so... (Yes - I know it's completely unrealistic. But hey, it's fun)
  23. It could happen in a trade. Or it could be something like Woodruff if there's budget available at the end of the offseason.
  24. Prior was a better prospect. Not by a ton, but he was rated higher and had a much superior pedigree.
  25. I really want to drive Derwood insane and win the lottery again.
