  1. What's especially sad is Reinsdorf is probably the best owner in Chicago and this is 100% on him. He had a young, fun team on the rise and decided to take a huge smelly dump on the whole thing by hiring a guy who has no business in a current mlb locker room. This goes beyond "loyalty" or whatever has convinced him to keep Kenny around as long as he has. I have to say, I know a lot of smarmy sox fans and they deserve this; but dammit I wish he didn't also own the Bulls.
  2. We should have traded for Verlander but for various, um, reasons, I have reason to doubt that Verlander would have been as successful with us - or for anyone - as he has been for Houston. Steroids? I’m in the dark on this one.
  3. Regarding Almora, Theo refused to part with him in 2017 for Jussin Verlander. This was after trading Eloy and Cease for Q. People have ragged on the Q trade enough but if he trades Almora for Verlander we might go back to back. What a disaster the post WS years were.
  4. I get it's not exactly sexy but I'm not sure what else they should be doing. The Bulls had a million injuries last year and still had the best record in the east at the all star break (not parade worthy of course but still something). I think AKME is doing fine all things considered; the bigger villain to me is the dorfs and their miserly ways.
  5. Despite their flaws, either Maddon or Girardi would be a massive upgrade for the white sox. It’s still ridiculous to me they hired TLR in the first place.
  6. I have no idea but if he's damaged goods he can't help much either. Just sucks he can't seem to stay on the court, he's had problems with his knees before this season too. Maybe now is the time to sell on him, though.
  7. I saw something on twitter that said the front office is (understandably) worried about Lonzo's knee long term. He's such a valuable player, it would suck big time if the Bulls can't count on him to be available. Maybe the answer is to include him in a trade for Ayton. He'll cost a lot but he's the kind of young, athletic rim protector the Bulls lack. So many potentially moving parts this offseason, hopefully AKME has something good up their sleeve.
  8. Suzuki just looks awful.
  9. He'll liven it up for sure but Detroit is still such a depressing park for him to play. It's like he went to the AL Pirates. Javy should have as big a platform as possible
  10. Christian Yelich turning into an albatross is not something I expected but welcome immensely.
  11. Lonzo has been shut down but I think they're just saving Zach for the playoffs at this point. The Bulls appear to be locked into either the 5 or 6 seed regardless so getting guys rest is hopefully the MO for this final week. I know this last 1/3 of the season has been a real wet fart but hopefully these guys can get fired back up for the playoffs.
  12. I think the need is pretty clear for next year. A big who can spell or play next to Vuc who can defend and protect the rim. Hopefully they sign someone and draft a big as well.
  13. I don't think it's disrespectful at all what the Cubs did in trading him but I do think he said he preferred to remain on the Cubs and go "down with the ship". Unvaxxed guy on the downslope, options have to be looking dicey. I bet that 5/$70 that was supposedly offered is looking pretty good right now.
  14. Even considering he was a buyout guy I'm pretty excited about the TT pickup. Dude is large and has always been kind of a dick on the court, which are two things I think this Bulls team severely needs. He may not be a great rim protector but he's big and can bang for rebounds. Great job AKME, I'm cool with whatever financials needed to happen.
  15. This looks like a pretty fun place to see a game, provided the real teams have to come here to play.
  16. How this is possible in a league that has instant replay is incredible. That should be at least a tech.
  17. I live in LA and get to see the Lakers quite a bit. Russ is hilarious, just zero awareness in all situations. Plus as you can tell he might need glasses too. I can’t believe they gave up anything of value for this guy and it’s likely going to cost Vogel his job (who surely wanted nothing to do with Westbrook in the first place).
  18. Yeah I think his initial timeline was 4-6 months, which on the aggressive side would have him back sometime in March. It's an upper body injury so there's part of me that thinks he should be able to keep himself in decent shape during this time? I think the plan is for now to hope he can help in the playoffs.
  19. Zo is an important glue guy on this team but between Ayo, Coby and Caruso coming back they should be able to weather this one ok. Provided Zach comes back in relatively short order as well. The playoffs were really a war of attrition last year. I'm ok with the Bulls being cautious with injuries if that helps them get to April and May healthy. It will be really interesting to see what they do before the trade deadline. Even if they figure Pat is coming back you know they have to make a move for a big of some capacity.
  20. That was a rough 3rd quarter last night. It's like the Bulls panicked when they realized their defense wasn't holding and they weren't going to be able to outscore them. Need to get healthy and add a defensive minded big as well. Not the end of the world but definitely looked outclassed in the second half last night.
  21. Ryan Pace, the gift that will never cease to give.
  22. The cash considerations bit is funny but I hope he can provide solid defense, rebounding and rim protection. IIRC that's basically his game and there's certainly an opportunity here if he can.
  23. Fields has a lot to work on but I'm a believer in his talent. This team sucks ass though. Have so much to fix and I don't trust this organization to get it right. Being a Bears fan sucks!
  24. I wanted Javy back and KB would be another great fit (although KB would fit great on just about every team). I was surprised he didn't sign before 12/1, but I guess that makes sense with how Boras rolls.
