  1. Gotta be weird for him going in the visiting dugout, etc. The should just show the final out of Game 7 on a loop for the entire series on the big screen.
  2. The Bears will win 4 games this year and be under mutiny conditions for much of it if Andy Dalton is the starter until Week 15. He's bad.
  3. Care to refresh my memory? Was it before or after we found out he was a human paraquat?
  4. Pay with credit card, venmo or of course a sack of nickels...
  5. Looking forward to a billion sideline shots of Justin Fields as the Bears come off the field after another 3 and out.
  6. Eh Cleve has 2 good defensive forwards/centers and those guys are the ones you want to pair Lauri with. I don't think he's great but seems like an ok fit. Probably too much money too but when you're Cleveland you have to take what you can get in free agency. AK with just a brilliant offseason, though. Easily the most excited I've been about the Bulls since DRose vaporized Goran Dragic in PHX.
  7. The ricketts snubbing Sammy angers me more than just about anything they’ve ever done. Who the horsefeathers are they to pass judgement on anyone? :middle finger
  8. I have been pretty on board with blowing it up but it’s really hitting me how bereft we are of actual mlb players. Even bad Cubs teams of the past never felt like they had *this many* holes to fill.
  9. It really is amazing. It sounds like Lance is impressing in camp but reviews on Wilson have been mixed, to say the least. I will never not be shocked he fell to the Bears. I keep looking for reasons to be cautious with Fields but he really does seem like the total package. Thank you Aaron Rodgers for being a distraction that day.
  10. Is this something that could really happen? I was hoping (more like wishing) they could move him at the deadline. Even if they had to eat 90% of the contract I would have been happy with it.
  11. I was kinda hoping he would be taking beatings for the rest of the season to assist in the tank job. Oh well. 2015 Jake was about as dominating as a starting pitcher could be.
  12. I'm pretty sure it's because I made a deal with the devil during the rain delay. No regerts (although tbf I was extremely drunk at the time).
  13. Imagine if we had lost. I'm 99% sure the world would be a much, much better place. It's a very convincing argument that the Cubs opened the portal to hell but all the bad things were already afoot when Rizzo caught that ball. And hey, only 5 years later the Cubs have maybe the worst roster in all of MLB so maybe things can get better? :shrug
  14. Imagine if we had lost.
  15. Man if I had cancer I would have been scared shitless of COVID. Hope he just suffers some embarrassment but damn what a dumbass.
  16. So that 5/130 take eh :barf: Good for KB that he’s killing it, though.
  17. Imagine showing this lineup and roster to someone from 2017 and saying “yes these are the Cubs.”
  18. Does anyone know if this means Lauri is gone too? It would be cool to keep him because you could always trade someone if it's not working out. Also I think Thad might have been a better fit for this current team, even though I'm excited about the roster as a whole.
  19. It's really going to be interesting to see what these guys sign for. I would love a timeline and corresponding values for any Cubs offers made to them. I could see the Yankees actually overpaying for Rizzo if he continues to produce for them (3/60 or 4/75 ish). I think KB eventually gets 5/130 from somone (probably the Giants) and Baez gets 5/110 from the Mets. That's a bummer if it's what it takes for Bryant/Baez. Well I'm talking directly out of my ass on this. Also I think their performance over the last couple months will matter what they ultimately end up with. I know this makes me seem like a Ricketts **** but paying +$200 million for either of these guys just seems like a bad decision. With the big caveats that of course it's not my money and usually there's always one or two teams willing to spend recklessly (so they may be able to match or exceed what the Cubs offered).
  20. It's really going to be interesting to see what these guys sign for. I would love a timeline and corresponding values for any Cubs offers made to them. 21. Phil Rodgers is hilarious, no surprise he loves Nicky two strikes. I’d like to see this guy stay on the field before committing anything. They’ve got him for 5 year already!
  22. I am going to be very interested to see what these three make in free agency. Is anyone going to throw $200 million at Baez or Bryant? Why do I see them both getting something like 5/130. The financial landscape has changed a lot in the past few years when the Cubs allegedly made these $200 million offers.
  23. It fit Grace but also I think kind of a awkward number. KB is like a 5 or a 23.
  24. I’ll say what everyone is thinking, 17 never looked right on KB and it only added to the feeling that his time on the team was temporary. I expect him to find himself and even greater success as a more natural #23.
