    Hopefully Illinois fires Lovie Smith now. He quite frankly sucks ass and gets pantsed regularly.

    I think he's got one more option year which I'd take, but I'd let someone else sign him after that.

    Amen. That team was just on another level. Everything since then just feels like a bloated mess, despite superficially a lot of wins. The 2016 cubs felt indestructible. Ready to be done with Maddon but who replaces him? Nobody comes to mind and the players still love him though. I’m not anticipating big changes in the offseason and that’s probably bad.

    Yeah what team has that guy been watching. Heyward has been great since he was moved out of leadoff.

    Gary Pressy whacking on his organ is an essential part of the wrigley field experience. I hope they find a worthy replacement.

    That's how Len said it and he's usually on the ball there. I think you're safe. I know a few people with that spelling of their last names and they pronounce it HERner. Ermaghad! Nica Herner!

    I thought this got bumped because of his horrific take on amateurism in college sports, but a drug issue works too!

    Yeah but isn't he also a pro-enviornmental Ivy Leaguer? I still don't get the MAGA or Tom Brady vibe. I think he's earnestly and thoughtfully lame.

    He seems like a repressed lib to me. And by not being "political" he thinks he's got a better shot at movie stardom. (FALSE, he's simply not a movie star and it's a lame way to pursue a career, which fits with his overall lameness.)

    Definitely. Also, both the Cubs and Jim took a huge a heel turn in trying to shamelessly woo the MAGA crowd. How has Jim tried to woo the MAGA crowd? By adding 13 pounds of muscle and playing Jack Ryan?

    Man, facing Paddock tonight too? Last night was a real back breaker.

    Maddon has got to go. I'm there, he's just bad. Defense is a shadow of 2016. Bullpen can't hold a lead. Been losing games like this all year, ready for some changes.

    You're not wrong but I think Heyward will go back to being playable out of the leadoff spot.

    He probably did it to avoid killing Nagy and Mitch. Those two horsefeathering SUCK and deserve it.
