  1. LOL sad Kershaw. What a bum.
  2. I think I'm kind of sold on Ross. He's buddies with these guys but also has no problem being a hardass when necessary. Feels like we've gotten so sloppy since 2016, maybe he's the right guy to tighten it up. Also I think will work well with Theo. As much as it annoyed me when we had to take him with Lester, there was magic there and maybe there is some left.
  3. That was a fun finish. Sorry crew, pretty good run in September though. I’m good with any of these teams winning besides STL. One of the Rays, A’s or Twins would be great fun though.
  4. I guess they have to pitch Flaherty but even against Holland? Sucks for them.
  5. Kintzler with the Mutumbo :nono: :nono: :nono:
  6. Haha ok I should have remembered about tommy edman. Just gonna turn this off now.......
  7. I am enjoying this game. I also think both the cardinals and brewers get smoked out of the playoffs.
  8. Not bad. Send descalso into the sun with Russell and get another OF for the bench. Hoerner, Bote and Happ should be more than sufficient as backup IFers.
  9. Yeah I suppose I slightly hate the cardinals more than the brewers so I hope we sweep.
  10. My sources had always indicated it was Happ.
  11. I don’t like them politically but they’ve been pretty great about spending money. The team and ballpark are in the best shape of my life. They spend but don’t mettle in the baseball side of things at all. This is an important offseason though.
  12. The 2019 Cubs are the last thing I want to talk about/pay attention to. But as soon as FA hits, I'll snort me a huge pile of Cub Cocaine like I always do.
  13. Think it has to be Contreras. Would love to deal him for a good starting pitcher. I think that is need #1. Not sure you could get that for Schwarber. I also hope Almora and Russell are gone dealt, and maybe Happ too.
  14. It's probably still the Cubs. Bears potentially have a shot this year with that defense but I don't trust Mitch or Nagy. I've always thought the Blackhawks might get one more but they've made so many terrible moves it seems unlikely. Bulls are light years away.
  15. I feel a little of this too. Even Heyward had a pretty good year outside of the leadoff/Joe stuff. Starting pitching is still a huge question mark. Have to replace Hamels now and Q/Lester next year. Maybe even sooner, those guys all struggled this year. Theo needs to fix the rotation now and I'm not sure he can.
  16. The silver lining I'm hoping for in this situation is the Cubs needed to totally miss the playoffs for real change to happen. Maddon needs to go, and then some. I know anything can happen in the playoffs but this team wasn't going to do dick.
  17. Hopefully Illinois fires Lovie Smith now. He quite frankly sucks ass and gets pantsed regularly.
  18. I think he's got one more option year which I'd take, but I'd let someone else sign him after that.
  19. Amen. That team was just on another level. Everything since then just feels like a bloated mess, despite superficially a lot of wins. The 2016 cubs felt indestructible. Ready to be done with Maddon but who replaces him? Nobody comes to mind and the players still love him though. I’m not anticipating big changes in the offseason and that’s probably bad.
  20. Yeah what team has that guy been watching. Heyward has been great since he was moved out of leadoff.
  21. So is Nico Suave going to be the leadoff hitter with rizzo out?
  22. Gary Pressy whacking on his organ is an essential part of the wrigley field experience. I hope they find a worthy replacement.
  23. That's how Len said it and he's usually on the ball there. I think you're safe. I know a few people with that spelling of their last names and they pronounce it HERner. Ermaghad! Nica Herner!
