  1. This game seems like a make-or-break for whatever you'd consider a "success" at this point. Unfortunately I don't expect this unit to come together under pressure and expect another ugly performance. The crowd will be ready to jump on them and I expect they'll crumble. Fields is broken and the coaching staff is incompetent. Lookout below.
  2. I've heard Deion say he won't coach in the NFL because he doesn't think he can motivate guys who have already been paid. Could be an issue in college now too but I think he stays in college for now.
  3. I feel kinda bad for some of the players when I hear Brisker ask why the fans are already booing in the second quarter of the first game, but it was clear even at that early point that the Bears aren't any good and don't look any different than the team that finished DFL in the league last year. I can't even get excited about multiple first round picks or Aaron Rodgers' achilles snapping like an old rubber band (thus rendering the Packers pick less valuable). It just washes over me into nothing. I feel nothing. I have no hope for the future and wish the team was disbanded and players scattered across the league.
  4. Don't tell David Ross he's not ready. He'd pitch this guy everyday if he could.
  5. Need to take care of business against the Rockies, especially. Clown organization, bro.
  6. Palencia and Little looked absolutely wicked yesterday. The bullpen has looked like it needed a boost and these guys look capable of providing that and then some.
  7. I really, really want playoff baseball in Wrigley this year. However if they don't make it I think judging it as a success or failure will depend on what they do in the offseason. If they barely miss but keep Bellinger and add some more pieces I think you can say they're still building towards something and would make missing the playoffs a lot less painful. However if they miss and lose key pieces and don't replace, total F from me bro.
  8. I had Marquee on last night and it took me a couple of innings to realize that it was a replay (wasn't watching closely, just had it on in the background). Dumb how they don't have a "replay" graphic on screen and had to hit info to see that it was indeed a replay (said "live" on my cable guide). Had a big ol' lol; indeed actual live baseball will be back! Also like the Friday evening game. I know Friday afternoons are staples but I'm still at work. This way I can go get tanked and enjoy the professor's show.
  9. Those people should just be happy they're in the building! The view on TV is sublime.
  10. They are definitely both nice but Wrigley is baseball holy land and hasn't hosted since 1990. Inexcusable!
  11. Now that the amenities have caught up to the aura and history, Wrigley shouldn't go more than 15 years or so without an ASG. Is there a more beautiful sight in baseball than the ivy covered walls and scoreboard? Maybe Dodger Stadium with the mountains in the background but that's about it.
  12. These two chucklefucks would solve a lot of problems on the North Side. Make it happen Jed!
  13. .238 & 18 home runs.
  14. I think this is a pretty great trade for the Nets. Kyrie is obviously a nightmare and is going to be a free agent after the season anyway. Getting a couple decent players and future picks seems solid. Dallas desperately needed to put a star next to Luka but Kyrie is a lunatic and I wouldn't want to hitch my wagon to him with a big deal in the offseason.
  15. Enduring the progression of Lauri and Carter Jr. is a terribly frustrating thing to watch this year Somewhere Gar's schadenfreude is off the charts lol (no he still sucks though) [expletive] Gar saddling them with the worst, dumbest coach in NBA history. We'll see about the AKME regime but they were indeed poison-pilled by GARPAX.
  16. How about 5/$200? C'mon Jed with Devers off the board there aren't any impact bats left. Do it.
  17. Man I would not be taking it well if we signed Correa to that contract and he was failing physicals. He’ll probably be fine but damn that is a bad sign.
  18. I really like this deal. Now go get Justin Turner and a catcher.
  19. Cubs definitely couldn’t have used this guy.
  20. Bad juju on this team. Maybe blow it up and rebuild time.
  21. When I saw his name on the field I thought we had re-acquired Brian Robinson. Looking like Ryan Poles had an excellent first draft.
  22. I'm going to need to check your sources on this one. If it's not Jerry it's either Ricketty or Wirtz 2.0, and while they both have recent titles I'd say the road has gotten much rougher lately. The bloom might be off the rose for both. McCaskey is DFL.
  23. What's especially sad is Reinsdorf is probably the best owner in Chicago and this is 100% on him. He had a young, fun team on the rise and decided to take a huge smelly dump on the whole thing by hiring a guy who has no business in a current mlb locker room. This goes beyond "loyalty" or whatever has convinced him to keep Kenny around as long as he has. I have to say, I know a lot of smarmy sox fans and they deserve this; but dammit I wish he didn't also own the Bulls.
