  1. JF1 and DJ2 have played so well this week I actually missed watching the Bears on Sunday. Hopefully the start of something special. Would be unbelievable if JF is good enough to pass on drafting a QB this year. Just tons of capital to work with. Also the Bears won't have to worry about Justin Jefferson this week against the Vikes. So much easier to root for wins with that Carolina pick looking more and more juicy. There will be an absolute bidding war for the overall first pick.
  2. Man it feels good to finally get a W; happy for the guys and Fields especially. All it took was getting Claypool off this team! Little worried about Mooney's continued invisibility. Someone other than DJ Moore is going to have to step up and make some plays for this offense to continue to put points on the board. Great win, although I was damn nervous for much of that second half they were going to blow it. Hopefully we can get the RBs healthy on the mini-bye. I like Roshon Johnson but I'm afraid he's going to continue to concuss himself the way he seeks contact with the ball. Love the angry running though.
  3. If the Bears lose tonight and he's not fired by tomorrow morning, my guess is they give him the rest of the season. You could argue his coaching will put us in the proverbial catbird seat in the draft, which is really all we have going for us right now.
  4. NM. Duplicate post.
  5. I'm having a hard time coming up with positives going forward. I don't trust Jed or Ricketts to do what it will truly take to make this a contender. There just aren't a lot of impact FA available and this team has so many holes to fill. I was hoping for a surprise WC birth because I don't see this as building towards something bigger. They'll probably cobble together enough for a team that will probably be in the wild card hunt but that shouldn't be good enough.
  6. Snakes up 2-0 on the White Sox already. I'm so depressed, I really thought I was going to get Cubs playoff baseball this fall.
  7. Good think Taillon doesn't like giving up massive home runs. Otherwise I might be worried about the Cubs ability to compete in this matchup against the Dongcrushers.
  8. This game seems like a make-or-break for whatever you'd consider a "success" at this point. Unfortunately I don't expect this unit to come together under pressure and expect another ugly performance. The crowd will be ready to jump on them and I expect they'll crumble. Fields is broken and the coaching staff is incompetent. Lookout below.
  9. I've heard Deion say he won't coach in the NFL because he doesn't think he can motivate guys who have already been paid. Could be an issue in college now too but I think he stays in college for now.
  10. I feel kinda bad for some of the players when I hear Brisker ask why the fans are already booing in the second quarter of the first game, but it was clear even at that early point that the Bears aren't any good and don't look any different than the team that finished DFL in the league last year. I can't even get excited about multiple first round picks or Aaron Rodgers' achilles snapping like an old rubber band (thus rendering the Packers pick less valuable). It just washes over me into nothing. I feel nothing. I have no hope for the future and wish the team was disbanded and players scattered across the league.
  11. Don't tell David Ross he's not ready. He'd pitch this guy everyday if he could.
  12. Need to take care of business against the Rockies, especially. Clown organization, bro.
  13. Palencia and Little looked absolutely wicked yesterday. The bullpen has looked like it needed a boost and these guys look capable of providing that and then some.
  14. I really, really want playoff baseball in Wrigley this year. However if they don't make it I think judging it as a success or failure will depend on what they do in the offseason. If they barely miss but keep Bellinger and add some more pieces I think you can say they're still building towards something and would make missing the playoffs a lot less painful. However if they miss and lose key pieces and don't replace, total F from me bro.
  15. I had Marquee on last night and it took me a couple of innings to realize that it was a replay (wasn't watching closely, just had it on in the background). Dumb how they don't have a "replay" graphic on screen and had to hit info to see that it was indeed a replay (said "live" on my cable guide). Had a big ol' lol; indeed actual live baseball will be back! Also like the Friday evening game. I know Friday afternoons are staples but I'm still at work. This way I can go get tanked and enjoy the professor's show.
  16. Those people should just be happy they're in the building! The view on TV is sublime.
  17. They are definitely both nice but Wrigley is baseball holy land and hasn't hosted since 1990. Inexcusable!
  18. Now that the amenities have caught up to the aura and history, Wrigley shouldn't go more than 15 years or so without an ASG. Is there a more beautiful sight in baseball than the ivy covered walls and scoreboard? Maybe Dodger Stadium with the mountains in the background but that's about it.
  19. These two chucklefucks would solve a lot of problems on the North Side. Make it happen Jed!
  20. .238 & 18 home runs.
  21. I think this is a pretty great trade for the Nets. Kyrie is obviously a nightmare and is going to be a free agent after the season anyway. Getting a couple decent players and future picks seems solid. Dallas desperately needed to put a star next to Luka but Kyrie is a lunatic and I wouldn't want to hitch my wagon to him with a big deal in the offseason.
  22. Enduring the progression of Lauri and Carter Jr. is a terribly frustrating thing to watch this year Somewhere Gar's schadenfreude is off the charts lol (no he still sucks though) [expletive] Gar saddling them with the worst, dumbest coach in NBA history. We'll see about the AKME regime but they were indeed poison-pilled by GARPAX.
