  1. The NLCS clinch last year was pure joy, but as far as level of drama I think only game 7 tops it. And that's only because it was game 7 of the freaking World Series. This one might have been wilder.
  2. Oh man what a game. I am spent. Eat horsefeathers Daniel Murphy!
  3. Go Yankees and go Arizona. F Trevor Bauer.
  4. I've been thinking about the happiness quote from mad men a lot lately. Good thing the corbs seem to be obliging my wishes!
  5. Ugh, nerves definitely kicking in. Sucks that the game is during work for me. I know I won't be able to get anything done with a Cubs playoff game going on.
  6. That really sucked, I thought we had them until the vaunted 8th inning struck. I just don't have faith in carl in big spots, he seems to lose his confidence and composure easily. Up 2-0 in a best of 5 is basically over, hopefully we can recover.
  7. They are so incredibly loyal to matheney and I couldn't be happier. That front office is absurdly conservative. Their farm system continues to produce uselful players but they seem to go out of their way to avoid acquiring a real impact player. I too would be throwing a fit.
  8. I could see a case being made for the division series to be 7 games instead of 5 but overall I think they're pretty much perfect. I love the wildcard games.
  9. There are many like it but this one is ours.....
  10. I like that nobody is picking the cubs. Go team.
  11. LOL, what a BS thing to say at the end of the season where you had every opportunity to make your point. Delusional.
  12. http://www.12up.com/posts/5612544-cardinals-pitcher-actually-believes-st-louis-is-better-than-the-cubs Is this for real, the site feels fake and they identify Carpenter as a pitcher so maybe this is fake news? "I feel like we are the better team." You cannot say that when you finish 9 games behind another team and they work you over all season. :nono: :nono:
  13. I'm nervous like I always am when the Cubs are in the playoffs but it is so much different than in years past. Nothing can hurt me now, I actually feel confident and if we lose then whatever, go get 'em next year. In 2003 I was so heartbroken I didn't watch 1 second of that world series, same with 2008. Win or lose I'm sure I'll consume every second I can of these playoffs. They should be great; obviously I want us to win but I think this is the Tribe's year.
  14. I know it's meatbally but it bothers me that the Yankees got all the headlines for the interview bit when the cubs have been doing it for at least half the season. I'm definitely rooting against them in the playoffs now, starlin be damned.
  15. I love Matheny checking the replay with that blank look on his face. LOL! No dice Mike!
  16. I like it, would be nice to win and want Schwarber to get #30.
  17. Caratini Avila Lastella Freeman Leonys Schwarber I think those 6 for sure, maybe Heyward and Addison too.
  18. As silly as it sounds for a guy with clear mechanical issues, I think it really comes down to confidence with JHey. You could say that about any hitter but I think everyone has relaxed to the point that nobody is expecting him to be a slugger. Any offense he provides is now basically viewed as a bonus. Hopefully he keeps it up into the playoffs.
  19. Russell bringing that guy nachos was a legit nice moment.
  20. Man, Zobrist really not mincing words, figured he'd be a little more aw shucks given his nature and growing up a cardinals fan. Anyway I love this team's swagger. They expect to win and never quit.
  21. I was thinking about that. If the Cubs win today, tomorrow's Brewers game starts at 6:40 and the Cubs at 7:15 so that would suck if the Brewers lost before we could win. But if we split the next 2 games and the Brewers win tomorrow, the Cubs game on Wednesday starts before the Brewers game. Why not just win tonight and tomorrow and celebrate? Doesn't matter what the Brewers do then. Damn straight. Last year I believe they clinched because of a loss and held off officially celebrating until the next day when Miggy walked it off. Too bad Milwaukee isn't playing tonight.
  22. I hope we clinch after a win and not because Milwaukee loses or whatever. I want to celebrate on their field. Although I also expect a ton of empty seats and Cubs fans for the entire series.
  23. Man there are some salty cardinal fans after last nights game. Their hatred for the cubs is pathological. Besides, last night's win helped their playoff chances!
