  1. Under normal circumstances yes but that organization seems so dysfunctional right now I wouldn't be surprised if they had decided to just keep Kyrie and let it play out. But I like the trade a lot for both sides, that opening night game should be LIT. Also the trade really highlights GARPAX's faults. The bulls are in for a tough road.
  2. I like that Lackey (and Arietta) are pitching for new contracts. I think we're going to get the best out of both of them down the stretch. Maybe Lackey retires to the glue factory but I still think he's going to give whatever he has. (I also hope Jake is still a cub next year, but that'll have to work itself out)
  3. His body control is so ridiculous. He's going like 80 mph while sliding and he's still able to lift his arm and move his body away from the tag while swiping the plate with his extended foot. I'd like to see a Statcast breakdown on this, too. And I'd also like to see a view isolated on Javy. How did he even score on that? I hand-timed it at 6.5 seconds from the ball hitting the bat to him touching the plate. And there was only 1 out, so it's not like he was running with the pitch and well on his way to third already. All that and the effortless pop-up. I definitely scared the neighbors on that play, you couldn't see him until the last second but I knew he was going to be safe. Javy being Javy \:D/ =D> =D>
  4. LOL. And how could I forget Dex?! I guess I didn't realize how likeable these Cardinals really are.......
  5. I'm not going to cry or anything but he's been the most likeable cardinal for the past decade or so.
  6. I think we are going to sea a lot more lastella if he keeps playing like this.
  7. I hate using the closer in non save situations.
  8. And Jake. Lance Lynn as a backup plan.
  9. Oh just that he refers to Jon Lester as the "$155 million pitcher", and only when he struggles.
  10. The Cardinals need an impact bat in the worst way (and have for a few years now). It's fun to watch them delude themselves into thinking that the *next* pixie-dust AAAA-star will be that guy. Agreed. But this was a Cubs writer that said these things. Lol well we have plenty of stupid on our side too. Gordo is still bemoaning $155 million and DJ Lamaheiu while Jon Lester and Ben Zobrist co-mvp'd a World Series Game 7, so whatevs.
  11. This was in June of last year. The Cardinals need an impact bat in the worst way (and have for a few years now). It's fun to watch them delude themselves into thinking that the *next* pixie-dust AAAA-star will be that guy.
  12. Hopefully ole' Jimbo is getting a WS ring for acquiring a young Javy and young Willson. They are the most fun ballplayers.
  13. I was thinking more like a mini-Slash but that works too. I saw the technique when he was air-guitaring "Bombtrack"....
  14. so, i clicked on the pic of javy there and I had a http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/ab/ab709e0a6410c5cedf8b59dc1f7fcedf3b9faf43f040004186aae8204023f752.jpg moment also, happ inexplicably still looks like a serial killer. maybe even more so? his name tag should read "rest station strangler" In a mostly sea of dorks, Javy looks like a damn rock star.
