    Seeing all those crooked numbers is honestly porn to me. With no championship hangover (and hopefully one more starter) this team is gonna be a monster.

    Like this move a lot. Asik has two years left on his deal, but the Bulls can pay it. Losing Niko will just help the tanking efforts and I'm not sold on New Orleans being all that good the rest of the season.

    I think the dissonance will be David Ortiz going in first-ballot despite having actually failed a drug test Yeah, Ortiz being the catalyst for the Boston team that broke the curse seems to give him immunity from everything. He was a huge winer and a boorish crybaby. Bonds was 10x the player Ortiz was and has, at worst, the same level of PED smoke around him. As an aside I wonder what current Cubs will eventually make the HOF. Bryant looks like a lock, and I think Willy has potential there too. There should also be a room dedicated to nothing but showing Javy highlights 24/7. Nobody does baseball better.

    Initially I thought that said "tail lights ready" as in the Cubs were now about to be behind them. I fully endorse all NL Central teams trash talking the Cubs this offseason.

    Is Lebron congratulating his younger self for making the 30K club? What a mess that team is. If I'm Kevin Love I wouldn't suit up for them again. He gets blamed for everything. He's got a ring, I'd definitely be trying to force my way out of town.

    A girl I was friends with in high school married that cardinals blogger mentioned above. It has taken a lot of restraint not to mock her and him in her facebook posts. I actually like her a lot and wouldn't do that, but it does bother me she married a huge cardinals homer/shill. He's also an Iowa fan, which is doubly bad in my eyes.

    I hate GARPAX as much as anyone but this Bulls team is fun as hell to watch. I can't believe I'm saying that; and they could actually get better when Levine suits up!

    I've always wonderered how he's felt about his deal turning out super-team friendly, but if there's any bitterness he seems to be hiding it well. But might also be why he seems unable to say no sponsoring things. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, and I know he gave Lurie $3.5 million just this year too)

    Feels like a great trade for the Cardinals. Alcantara figures to be a reliever, no? Was hoping they'd have to give up one their young starters.

    I don't want the cardinals to get either but I bet both of those guys would bounce after one year. Machado especially.

    If I was a ball player, I'd avoid a town where people draw swastikas on each other for fun. Until something drastically changes, they only way they'll get any decent FA is by overpaying like they did for Fowler. And even then it'll be an uphill battle.

    This is all true, but it makes me sad because besides him most of the pitching options range from butt to OK. Yeah, I like Chatwood as a #5 but not as a #4. Cobb? Eh, and I'm not crazy about trading any of the young guys either. Darvish/Jake or bust.

    I'm not sure it's crushing. It might have been had Hossa not gone on LTIR. There are worse D men making the same same as Seabrook. With reduced minutes he hasn't looked that bad if you weren't comparing him to what he used to be. Doesn't seem like Toews or Keith are nearly the players they were either (although Keith's contract is much more palatable). Not sure what can be done but I'll still take it considering they won it 3 times. If you asked me in 2006 I would have said that never could happen and it was awesome.

    Given the odds I'm probably way too optimistic but dammit there's nobody I'd want more running this show than Theo.

    Illinois got hosed last night; I had forgot what a joke it is to play on the road in college basketball. Defense looked like a problem, though. Hopefully Underwood can coach them up in that regard.

    Yep, a moment when we all went into uncharted territory as cubs fans and could legitimately use the words "cubs" and "World Series" together.

    I don't want to trade future MVP Addison Russell just quite yet. Feels like we'd be selling low.

    I'm not ready to trade any of the young guys (unless it's a great offer), so I'm cool with singing an Alex Cobb-type and then rebuilding the bullpen. Needs will pop up during the season and I also hope they plan on making a big push for Harper next year.
