  1. As silly as it sounds for a guy with clear mechanical issues, I think it really comes down to confidence with JHey. You could say that about any hitter but I think everyone has relaxed to the point that nobody is expecting him to be a slugger. Any offense he provides is now basically viewed as a bonus. Hopefully he keeps it up into the playoffs.
  2. Russell bringing that guy nachos was a legit nice moment.
  3. Man, Zobrist really not mincing words, figured he'd be a little more aw shucks given his nature and growing up a cardinals fan. Anyway I love this team's swagger. They expect to win and never quit.
  4. I was thinking about that. If the Cubs win today, tomorrow's Brewers game starts at 6:40 and the Cubs at 7:15 so that would suck if the Brewers lost before we could win. But if we split the next 2 games and the Brewers win tomorrow, the Cubs game on Wednesday starts before the Brewers game. Why not just win tonight and tomorrow and celebrate? Doesn't matter what the Brewers do then. Damn straight. Last year I believe they clinched because of a loss and held off officially celebrating until the next day when Miggy walked it off. Too bad Milwaukee isn't playing tonight.
  5. I hope we clinch after a win and not because Milwaukee loses or whatever. I want to celebrate on their field. Although I also expect a ton of empty seats and Cubs fans for the entire series.
  6. Man there are some salty cardinal fans after last nights game. Their hatred for the cubs is pathological. Besides, last night's win helped their playoff chances!
  7. How are the Brewers going to play today after all their backs were broken last night? Also, love the Friday night game. Coming home from work on a Friday to a Cubs game is always a joy. Can even get drunk with no repercussions!
  8. They should trade him for high batting average-haver Aledmys Diaz.
  9. They're still mad about the rizzo hbp. They should consider themselves lucky, rizzo was about to take their trash ass pitcher deep. He didn't want to go to first.
  10. well on sunday they were probably watching their football team...oh nm Eh, that's one area I won't hit them on for. They did everything right and the NFL had it in for the city. You can see how much support those idiots have in LA and the guys running the show are a bunch of lying scum with no souls. Yeah, as much joy as I get from the Cubs being the dominant team in the division now, I feel bad for them in the way they got screwed. The NFL is garbage anyway so maybe not that big of a loss.
  11. All the cardinal angst I saw on twitter this weekend really brought a lot of joy to my heart. Andy from Desipio retweeted an article from April entitled "The 2017 Cardinals are built to beat the Cubs" and the comments are pure gold.
  12. The problem is the Cubs have too many good players. What will we ever do?? \:D/ :flythew: \:D/ :flythew:
  13. Did he create a dummy account? I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because I wouldn't have wanted to play with Westbrook either, but yeah. Whatever rings they win will feel hollow. That being said, if I was a celeb I'd probably have a dummy twitter account too. Why just let the norms get in on the fun?
  14. This is [expletive]. Inexcusable to have this battery in the middle of a horsefeathering pennant race.
  15. that memory fades a little more every day I have found that watching the entire 10th inning on youtube every night before I go to bed has warded off any and all memory attrition. (But I hope we get at least one more before Theo moves on to a new challenge)
  16. Playing too much slappydick in the dugout and on Twitter. Maddon needs to get their heads in the game!
