  1. If he does, then I fully expect he'll play the entire season with it. He's just that tough, man.
  2. I'm still miffed that Urlacher got tackled by Rodgers. Great play by Aaron. Come on, jump over him or something :) He's the only guy left and you're home free. That TD would have changed things, in retrospect.
  3. They're certainly feeling vindicated right now after last offseason (Angelo, Lovie, etc) I don't want to pre-judge how that will translate into next year. I presume they still feel like the goal is to win the Super Bowl, and not just do well enough to keep their jobs going.
  4. Love to have him. Probably lots of $$$$$$. Not sure he would be realistic.
  5. With replay instituted for safe/out calls on the bases, and fair/foul for home runs, how can you argue that the correct outcome can't be "guaranteed"? Mistakes can still be made on replay. Camera angles don't always show everything clearly. And sometimes refs look at the video and apply the rules wrong. I don't see how you can argue that anything is guaranteed. That doesn't mean replay isn't a good idea. It most definitely is.
  6. After Green and Jones, I'm not sure there's much in the way of immediate impact guys in the draft. Jon Baldwin probably won't fall and I'm not enamored with a lot of the others. If you're looking for a WR to come in and produce immediately, FA is probably the better way to go. It was supposed to be very deep at WR this year, but several very good underclassmen have decided to return to school for whatever reason. Probably labor weirdness played a role.
  7. That's entirely possible. Hopefully this silly controversy dies down quickly and doesn't affect the market for the Bears. Because banking on even a really good rookie WR to be significantly productive is not a very good situation. I think drafting OL is a better option in the early rounds, but Angelo's ability to make the right decision is........in question, to say the least.
  8. Of course. That's the essence of the meatball. If only they'd listen to me things would be so much better!!
  9. It'd also be nice to get a big OL or 5. Definitely. But getting someone that can get open in coverage so Cutler doesn't have to hold the ball all day long will help protection too. I presume AJ Green and Julio Jones will both be gone. How's the WR class after that?
  10. I was kind of hoping this thread would be a refuge from things like that today, but thanks.
  11. OL, WR. Do we need defense? I've heard some talk about replacing Tommie. I think for once, we're probably in pretty good shape @ DE.
  12. It's not worth it. The call makes no sense. If you don't trust Gould, then that's ridiculous after all he's done. And even if you say you don't trust Gould, you just deferred the opening kickoff because you trust your defense. So giving the Packers the ball on the 31 shouldn't be that big of a deal. It simply makes no logical sense.
  13. Surely Gould had a decent shot at that 49 yarder. I do not understand that call unless Gould has an injury, which I heard nothing about. He can make a 49 yarder. Pretty much end of story. He should have been allowed to attempt that field goal. We needed points there to try to break up the momentum that the Packers had established.
  14. Seems like this is the usual when a HC gets called into question. It's either the HC goes, or a bunch of assistants do. In this case Fisher stayed on.
  15. We've got actual draft picks this year! We can actually watch the draft with some interest for a change. Of course they've got to actually sign a labor agreement. I, for one, am excited about the prospect of having a 2nd year in the same offensive system for our QB.
  16. But we were playing one of the hottest (the hottest?) offense in the NFL. Giving them the ball first is a mistake, imo. I'm not saying it was the reason they lost by any means, but it was something I'd have done differently. I'm torn on it. I can see the advantage of putting your defense on the field first, because the Bears defense has been very good this year. If we get that 3-and-out, it really sets up well for us afterwards. On the other hand, if you put your offense on the field first and they go 3-and-out, then you just blew the coin toss win in the space of a few minutes. I can see the other side of it, too. Mostly, I think it's a more worthy discussion point than Cutler :) I also like the idea of Hester being the first person in the game to touch the football. I hadn't thought of that. Good point. It certainly worked out well for us in the Super Bowl -- though what came afterwards was less than thrilling.
  17. Does Disney World really want Ben Roethlisberger to come at all? Should be a really good game. I've got friends/relatives on both sides of this thing.

  19. I'm not even going to listen. There going to be a lot of idiocy spouted over the next couple weeks, and I'm going to try and avoid hearing as much of it as possible. No talk radio/TV for at least 10 days. Enough time for people to calm the [expletive] down and think. There was actually some decent non-Cutler Bears talk going on 670 this morning. I couldn't resist :) But....it was good to hear. They talked about Knox's inability/unwillingness to turn defender on throws. Hampton really thought the Bears should have taken the ball instead of deferring. There was also talk of letting Lovie ride out his contract and not giving him an extension. I was thankful it wasn't all about this Cutler stuff.
  20. A person can be smart. But people? People are stupid.
  21. They actually are pretty good. It will be a pretty interesting matchup in the SB. Both teams have a knack for big drives, big 3rd down conversions, and strong defense. Someone will be taken off their game. It will be interesting to see which it is.
  22. I know. I think I'll be avoiding the local radio shows for awhile.
  23. Yes. And it's pretty funny listening to Simms try to come with reasons why it should be watched. *channel changer*
  24. Better hide them somewhere, 'cuz the Roethy Rape Train is comin' to Dallas.
  25. I don't understand the point of continuing to argue over which game is the biggest game. I think we get it. Someone thinks this game was bigger. Someone else doesn't.
