Soul just did like one page ago I definitely think the Nuggets are going to lose on that deal. Doesn't have anything to do with the Bulls though. I didn't even realize we were making offers. Doesn't have anything to do with LeBron either.

Yep, I agree with all that. The Bears should be able to minimize his shortcomings and maximize his strengths. Given where he was drafted, Knox has to be considered a very successful pick.

i don't think atlanta will finish ahead of orlando i think the hawks will finish 5th with the bulls and magic battling it out for 3rd i'm still worried about the knicks getting melo and then having to face them in the first round. This Melo to the Knicks thing. What can the Knicks give the Nuggets that would even come close to compensating for Melo? Denver's going to get snowjobbed on that deal, big time. I just hope nobody comes on here whining about Melo being given away after trying to trade Deng, Scalabrine and Bogans for him all season. Nobody on this board tried to trade for Melo, so I don't know why you would be upset at them for commenting on Melo being given away. If he goes to the Knicks for nothing in return, it's perfectly valid to point that out.

I understand being disappointed with specific plays. But I don't know how anyone can be disappointed with the season a 2nd year, 5th round draft pick, out of Abilene Christian who had 51 catches, for 960 yards, 5 TDs, and a league's 5th best 18.8 yards per reception. Just like Hester before him, Knox is a victim of being thrust into the wrong situation as the #1 WR. Get a legit WR and watch him get better. Yeah, that's my feeling on Knox as well. Much better than I would have thought, just put in a role he's clearly not ready for now. To me, a WR is the number 1 priority through FA. He's probably never going to be a great route runner, or fight for underthrown passes, or bump his way through press coverage effectively. I think he's doing what he's going to do, right now.

It's just confirming for me what I've been suspecting about Knox's route running all along. Cutler's the guy who will receive blame because he's the QB. But when you look deeper, you see the failures of our OLine that he needs to compensate for, and a WR corps that really, honestly, does not help him out at all. The quote mentions Ben Roethlisburger. What I wouldn't give for a group of WRs that works with a scrambling QB like the Steelers have.

Why would Smith have been considered a better prospect? Smith was considered a better prospect because of his athleticism. I remember that was a big reason why San Francisco drafted him. Rodgers fell because there wasn't a lot of need for quarterbacks that season. I remember most knew he would fall because teams didn't perceive a need @ QB that year. I think scouts really missed on the athleticism piece -- Rodgers is plenty athletic, as it turned out.

Hindsight is 20/20, but it's amazing looking back that Rodgers would have received that tag, and Alex Smith would not have. I mean Rodgers has the typical NFL pocket-passing physical build & tools. I wonder how much of it was anti-Tedford bias based on QB failures like Boller, Smith. Apparently Mike Nolan didn't like Rodgers' attitude too. That is quite a poor reason to pass on a franchise QB, if you really believe he's the best talent in the draft.

We have the 49ers and their boneheaded decision to pick Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers to thank for this mess :) I agree -- I do tend to like Rodgers, silly celebration and all.

The stuff I read has said the Bears are going to give Webb at shot at LT. And it looks like Omiyale (who is a solid run blocker) and Williams will compete at RT. Have also read that having to play GBs pass rush at least 2 times per year, they don't want a couple rookie OL in there. I think they bring in at least 1 FA on the OL, probably in the LG spot. My own guess says they also are about 50/50 on whether they bring back Kreutz or move Garza over to C. I don't think Kreutz and Garza are both back. That's what I have seen too. Obviously there's a ton of time for things to change between now and whenever the NFL decides they want to play football again.

There seem to be many Packers who try to come up with a patented celebration move. I don't recall many Bear players doing this. It's a douchy thing to do, whether it is a Packer or a Bear.

I'm curious to hear your explanation, because by all accounts he's a nice guy. He doesn't get in trouble, he doesn't have 12 children running around, he's not whoring himself out to the media. If you want to let loose on Favre for being a douchebag, go right ahead, but Rodgers really has not done anything deserving of douchedom. Almost all of my Bears friends actually like Rodgers because he appears to be the opposite of Favre. What I hate most about Rodgers is the fact that he is a Packer, and thinking back he really shouldn't have been. It was amazingly lucky.

I think there's a lot more to it than just a fight over the length of the season. The owners want the players to roll back the percent of revenue they currently get. Yeah, there's a lot to it. Also the owners want to severely limit the rookie salaries. Ahh yes, the slotting of rookie salaries. I'll need to read up on all the angles of this thing. I've tried to ignore it while the season was going on.

The most noteworthy thing for me with the Packers is the fact that they've got a goose that lays golden eggs in the pocket. Focus your energy on protecting that concuss-able cranium of his.

I think Mike Lombardi brought that up on one of Bill Simmons' podcasts last week, mentioning that it was unfortunate for Pittsburgh that their biggest strength would basically be wasted in this game. I'm sure that's true, but still -- RB surely cannot be considered a need for this team when they just showed they can run a road schedule all the way to the Super Bowl and then win it with Starks + all the top-notch passing game options they have. Obviously they would benefit from a better back, as all teams would. if you have an elite QB, good offensive line and good WR, a having a good RB really doesn't matter. your OL will open up holes, linebackers will be back on their heels to defend the pass and the safeties can't come up to help. peyton manning had edgerrin james for a while, but none of his other RBs have been anything special. tom brady's backfield has been a revolving door. Agreed, they're a pure passing offense, and a really good one. They just need a serviceable back who doesn't make stupid mistakes and hand the ball over.
