  1. Yeah, I noticed right away the presence of Bulls fans. Heck, I should've driven over there tonight.
  2. Wow, sticker shock. $100 for bleacher seats now? That's just too much. Last time I sat out there everyone in my group got mild heat stroke. And then we lost in the 9th inning.
  3. They want their cake and eat it too. They blew up their business with their poor judgement, now they want someone to pay to keep them in business while they give up no control. It would be like you & I asking the bank to pay off our home loan, but we still keep ownership of the house. We'd be laughed back out into the street. But not these guys, apparently. Being buddies with Selig apparently means you get to walk between the rain drops.
  4. What's that look on Wade's face? Like he doesn't think Rose is a big enough deal to be making a big shot and be excited about it.
  5. Heheh, love it.
  6. It is the worst single-game shooting performance in the NBA since 1973. Wow. Well, I guess the truth is he won't likely do that again. But it's fun to see happen against us.
  7. So he's advocating another team or two in the New York metro area? Beijing, perhaps. I'd be interested in hearing him name these other "major markets" that could host the likes of the Royals and Pirates. Or perhaps he would like to re-tract the league down to 12 teams or so?
  8. All the stuff I want to say will either get me in trouble, or not be half as witty as I wish it was. So I'll say nothing, other than to re-state the obvious: the Cardinals' bid to re-take the division just took a pretty big blow today.
  9. It's not just because of that flop, but after seeing Bosh through this whole "super team" thing, I'm really glad he didn't come here. The man is a turd. Great win tonight.
  10. Huh. They lost to these guys? Pretty strange considering what they did to some pretty good teams just a bit ago.
  11. It shouldn't take a tirade from Toews to get people to play up to their capabilities. I think that's the larger point, not that his tirade happened to work for one game.
  12. Nice. Thanks for that. Also with regards to his scoring efficiency, specifically points per shot attempt, I was reading something on Bleacher Report of all places, and came across this tidbit: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/614021-chicago-bulls-myths-and-realities-evaluating-criticisms-of-the-team/page/5 Wait, he's supposed to just be on a hot streak, not actually improving as a basketball player. This can't be.
  13. I'm not even sure what he's trying to say. He says Rose is on a hot streak, rather than developing into a great player. No way to really prove that, I guess, other than to wait and see. Says he dislikes Rose because he apparently won't become a complete player. Again, he doesn't know this, he's just saying it as if it is a fact. It's a lot of mumbo jumbo. Most likely, he doesn't like Rose because he doesn't play for his favorite team. He was on Boers and Bernstein and basically said that it isn't an indictment of how good he is or his relative value; just an aesthetic issue. He doesn't enjoy Derrick's game because it's just physical exploitation over less gifted individuals and there isn't much art to it. Which is true, but its something I aesthetically love. It's a very predatory, almost shark-like style. One of my teachers in high school used to say: if you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with BS
  14. I think it's just one of those unexplainable, irrational dislikes for a player...which is fine. I have plenty of those. But writing an entire GQ article on the subject is a bad idea. Because like you said, what he wrote is mumbo jumbo. I would think a writer would seek out statistical support for his argument before publishing it to the world. I mean it's not as if he titled his article "My strange, irrational dislike for Rose." He's saying he's going to make an actual case against him, and then simply doesn't.

  16. So much for my one more year idea. Although it is only through the 2012 season for Tice.
  17. Now I feel extra bad about this. No '85 Bear should come to such an end. I would've listened to Duerson tell war stories about '85 until the end of time. As a champion in this town, he's a hero. It's too bad he didn't feel like he had anything left to go on.
  18. They just don't care enough.
  19. If there's concern building over Kane's off-ice behavior, it's not because he's changed. He was doing this all last year. We all saw the pictures. One night in Vancouver in particular stands out... Anyway, when the Hawks were winning it was boys will be boys. Now they aren't, so it's hey, Kane's out of control. And this type of "perception cycle" (for lack of a better term) is something that happens over & over in the world of sports.
  20. Nice. That's concerning considering he was in trouble not too long ago.
  21. I think last night was probably the end for me -- in terms of thinking we might pull something off and squeak in. That's a terrible loss to a bad team. It pretty much means we are also a bad team.
  22. yeah, the site for me has been spotty, all the way up until this morning. as late as last night I was still getting the squatter message. I access through multiple portals, all the same -- when it's down, it's down from multiple access points.
  23. This has not turned out to be a feel-good Friday. Not at all. RIP.
  24. Noah IS a big name guy, and a top 5 player at his position. The Bulls don't need to do anything drastic going forward. A decent 2 this offseason (or, by some miracle, by this deadline) will make them a championship contender for years to come. This roster just needs tweaking. Not an overhaul of any kind. Cool. And I don't have anything specific in mind. It just occurred to me that this is a differentiator between the Bulls and a lot of other teams. It's a nice luxury to have.
  25. I almost don't want to say it. But since the Bulls have been playing outstanding without him anyway, does Noah become that piece in a trade deal if it nets you another big name guy? The thing is, I don't think there are other teams out there that can say they're steamrolling into the playoffs, and have a guy like Noah not even contributing to it. It's luxury that I believe the Bulls alone have.
