  1. "Ridiculous hair?" Don't hate because you're going bald already. That is a majestic mane. Use it or lose it, I always say.
  2. Yeah they are awful. The only part of that show I like is when Golic talks about things inside the players perspective. Besides that it is worthless. It used to be better. Now it's Greenberg playing his whole "metrosexual" schtick to the hilt, and Golic's incessant, tedious muscle-head tirades. And I noticed they've added these extremely annoying live ads where they comp on a product like Regus Offices for 5 minutes........with music playing in the background. Ugh. It's gone from a decent morning sports show to ponderous and ridiculous drivel.
  3. Q is in the hospital for internal bleeding (apparently). Doesn't sound all that serious: http://blogs.suntimes.com/blackhawks/2011/02/report_quenneville_suffered_fr.html
  4. Yeah, I'm sure he doesn't want to hang around as a position coach forever. So it makes sense he'd be disappointed. Bears probably just want one more year from him.
  5. Well shoot, what's gotten into that Charlotte club?
  6. ouch. Wonder what Tice thinks about that. Probably thinks he signed a 2-year deal and he should deal with it. After all, the Bears are only acting in his best interest.
  7. My guess is that the writer is assuming everyone knows that the exact medical detail on how much was muscle and how much wasn't isn't going to be included. It's a decent guess, pictures are provided. And that seems like a reasonable assumption to me. He's been working out, he's gained some weight, here are some pictures.
  8. I'll offer up the sour grapes angle. You've got 2 big city suitors -- CHI and NY -- who both got the snub from Lebron. That's going to build in a lot of angst/extra scrutiny against Lebron. He still handled it badly, though. But if he wasn't the biggest thing in basketball, or close to it, people probably wouldn't have cared as much. Or if the suitors were smaller market teams, same end result. I mean, if Charlotte was the team that wanted Lebron and he snubbed them for Miami, it wouldn't have mattered as much. There's not as much media, not as many fans with a vested interest in that town.
  9. They tried to build a championship team around him. They just failed, that's all. It happens. The Timberwolves also failed to build a championship cast around Garnett (quickie example that comes to mind).
  10. Just for me personally, I never had a problem with the fact that Lebron wanted to leave. For me it was all about the douchebag way in which he handled it -- which in my opinion revealed a lot about Lebron that is, let's say, less than flattering.
  11. Strange? Perhaps not. Selfish, narcissistic attitude towards life? Definitely.
  12. He sure didn't have much problem cloaking himself in the home-town-boy image when it suited him.
  13. Yeah, ESPN is featuring the Pujols talk now, with Olney giving an extended piece on it this morning. The Cubs would never be an option, but I'm intrigued by the possibility that Pujols is just too expensive for the Cardinals, and might therefore go to one of the Red Sox or Yankees. Getting him out of the NL would benefit the Cubs.
  14. Wasn't Kaners on net, but just deflected by the knob of the goaltender's stick? I think really they just got lucky there. He beat him. But anyway. Season's heading into the stretch now and we're just not picking up the wins we need.
  15. Surely coaching has something to do with it, but it also seems likely to me that, in retrospect, Rodgers had the better skill set for the pro game than Smith. I'm sure you're right to some degree, but I don't think coaching/organization could account for all the difference in outcome.
  16. Deng should have been an all star this year. Gasol nudges out Kobe. Wow, really? I expected Durant to be a little higher, too.
  17. Yeah, it kinda does. Because he used the wrong term to describe one of the guys? You realize the fact that he mixed up terms doesn't actually necessarily mean that he thought Ron had the play by play duties, right? He's not listening to the games on the radio. He's sitting up in North Dakota with his crappy internet feed and his grainy TV set, and you know it.
  18. Yeah, it kinda does.
  19. I guess it's a good thing that I avoid any show that has "Dance" in the title, huh?
  20. Pat was all that was needed to call the game. Ron was never there to inform people about baseball. The idea that Ron was ruining Pat's call is laughable.
  21. He's been around forever. Had a pretty nice run in the NBA on both sides of the equation. There's no shame in simply deciding he doesn't need it anymore, IMO. no titles Sure. So what, he's not going to get one. Maybe he should just shoot himself then? I don't get your point.

  23. How would that be fun? Obama is a hack that can shoot a little bit. Jordan's the greatest player who ever lived. I wouldn't be looking for the competitivness of the game, obviously. I just think it would be fun to see them both play.
  24. He's just never going to lose the desire to get on the court. I'd like to see a Jordan/Obama game, trash talk and all. That would be fun.
  25. Bernstein? Half the people on this board don't get that. I'll take the emotion over analysis any day too. If I take the emotion out of sports, then frankly there's not much for me to care about. I'd rather do something else with my time than look over stat sheets, or listen to some guy tell me about it. I don't care. I'm living for the emotion of winning games, and championships. That's what this whole thing is for me. That's why Santo was great. What Bernstein really doesn't get is how much of a pompous ass he is, and how unappealing his personality is. Just my 2 cents, but the guy is a jerk.
