  1. Maine k's, Reyes up with two down, nobody on.
  2. If he didn't swing at any of those pitches he would've walked. Very true. But, he's a hacker. He'll hit some balls hard, but has little to no discipline up there because of it. Leadoff hitter pops out to Theriot in shallow right. One down, Maine batting.
  3. Z K's on a high fastball around shoulder high. Inning over, we don't score. Still 3-0 Cubs.
  4. His pitches don't have much movement. Everything's looked very straight.
  5. Every hit I've seen has been very hard somewhere.
  6. Barrett nearly drives one out to right. Off the wall just over the 371 sign in right, Barrett to second, Ward to third with just one out. Announcers making fun of Ward's lack of speed.
  7. Ward with a single to left center. Runner on with one out for Barrett.
  8. Looks to me he's short arming it. And his arm slot is moving quite a bit. I'll keep looking, but I think he's been at least fairly consistent with his arm slot. Great running catch by Beltran in center on an almost sure double by Aramis. One down.
  9. I'm not seeing a problem in Z's mechanics. Maybe someone can elaborate on why they think he's hurt. Lo Duca singles to left and Sorino cuts down Green at home! Perfect throw by Alf and terrific block at the plate by Barrett. Inning over still 3-0 Cubs.
  10. Green doubles very hard off the wall in right. Extremely hard hit, almost a homer. Paul Lo Duca up, two out, runner on second.
  11. GIDP! Izzy to Theriot to Ward, two out with none on. Shawn Green up.
  12. Delgado leads off the bottom of the second with a single to left. One on, none out.
  13. Soriano flies out to right on a 2-2 pitch. Heading to the bottom of the second, Cubs lead 3-0.
  14. 3-0 Cubs top second. Runners on the corners with two out, Sori up.
  15. Fontenot is killing the ball in Iowa right now (1.029 OPS). Patterson is doing well too (.893 OPS). Fontenot is probably more versatile in the field though if he can actually play a good SS. Chances are, if somebody gets called up, they'll be coming in off the bench. I would rather bring Fontenot up to do what his upside is (role player) than bring up Patterson and take a chance on hurting his development. Let Fontenot come up and pinch hit a few times and leave Patterson to play every day in the minors.
  16. Good job by Marquis of recovering. He didn't look good after the homer, but he got out of the inning. Now he needs to settle back down.
  17. It'll be interesting to see how he responds when the control isn't there. Could be very telling for the rest of the year. And a two-run homer is not what I was hoping for.
  18. But then you don't get to see Erin Andrews. Always a nice plus. :D If you like Erin Andrews, you'll love this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIP7a9Z-YBM That's funny that somebody actually made that whole thing up. I wonder if she ever filed that sexual harrasment suit? :)
  19. But then you don't get to see Erin Andrews. Always a nice plus. :D
  20. Marquis looked really good against the top three hitters for the Mets. Only one hard hit ball. Hopefully this continues all night.
  21. . No problem in this game. Glavine's normally around the plate only early in the count, so you want to jump on him before he gets ahead of you. RBI single by Aramis, 1-0 Cubs! And Murton flys out.
  22. 3 pitches 2 outs. Sori with a double to right center!
  23. Theriot with a weak grounder to Glavine. one down. And another by Izzy. Two down.
  24. Good news that he's expected back tomorrow, but I worry about the injury being around his neck.
