  1. Bengals take Marvin White, S from TCU.
  2. Jags take Brian Smith, LB from Mizzou.
  3. Steelers take Daniel Sepulveda, P from Baylor. Traded up to get a punter. Very interesting.
  4. Packers trade their pick to the Steelers. Details hopefully to come later.
  5. Raiders take J. Bowie, a CB. Bills take Dwayne Wright, RB from somewhere.
  6. Adam Schefter reporting the Trent Green to Dolphins trade likely to fall through. Chiefs want a fourth rounder, Dolphins don't want to give more than a sixth. The happy compromise of a fifth is not possible because the Dolphins don't have one.
  7. Falcons take Stephen Nicholas, LB from South Florida.
  8. Wow. My prayers to the Cards and Hancock's family. That sucks.
  9. Dolphins take Paul Soliai, DT from Utah.
  10. Weird Mayock says this ends Aaron Stecker's days in NO and they feel Pittman's a steal since they graded him a second round pick.
  11. Saints apparently make a deal w/the Texans and take Antonio Pittman, RB from the Ohio State.
  12. Well, I guess we won't take Smith now. What do people know about Stanback? He sounds like he's got quite a bit of raw talent, but is very unrefined as a QB. ESPN says he'll be a WR in the NFL. Maybe we'll still take Smith. If the Titans don't beat you to him.
  13. Official announcement was just made that the Raiders sent Moss to NE for a 4th rounder. It's offical.
  14. Buccaneers take Tanard Jackson, CB/S out of Syracuse. I like this pick, Jackson can be good if he keeps his act together.
  15. Lions take A.J. Davis, CB out of NC State.
  16. Well, I guess we won't take Smith now. What do people know about Stanback? He sounds like he's got quite a bit of raw talent, but is very unrefined as a QB.
  17. 49ers take Jay Moore, DE from Nebraska.
  18. A little early to select a punter, imo. I don't know anything about Podlesh except that he was the highest rated punter in the draft. If they really needed him, I think it's ok, but probably a bit early.
  19. Cowboys take Isaiah Stanback, QB from Washington. Interesting pick.
  20. Brian Robison, DE from Texas to the Vikings.
  21. Adam Podlesh a punter from Maryland goes to the Jags.
  22. If you put up 3.5 yards per carry in any conference, yes that includes the SEC, there is no reason you should be drafted in the second round. Exactly. I might be a little more forgiving if he did that in the SEC or Big Ten where the defenses are elite, but you're right. If you average 3.5 yards per carry in any conference, I see no way you're a second round pick.
  23. I've been very happy so far. If the Cowboys can come out of the 2nd day with Paul Soliai, one of Fred Bennett/Tarrell Brown/Michael Coe at CB, and then someone like Ryne Robinson at WR I'd be thrilled. I predict Troy Smith and Martrez Milner as our picks in the fourth round. Smith is an ok player at a position of little to no need (see Griffin, Michael) and Milner is a high potential, zero production college player (see Henry, Chris and Williams, Paul). And then I may shoot myself.
  24. I'm going to watch as I normally do, with hope and anticipation, as the Titans pick - even though I have a very strong feeling I'm going to continue to be dissapointed. I hate it when draft day sucks, there's nothing else major that's going to happen before the start of the season.
  25. I agree entirely. They have a very good history of good drafting. I don't know what happened this year. It was terrible. I got all excited for Meachem, and when they announced the selection of Griffin, I swore loudly and threw a pen across the room in frustration. 2nd round they could have rebounded with Smith, but no, they took a RB who did nothing during the season. Such a crap pick. I hope Vince has fun having no one to throw to next season. Overall, I was thoroughly disgusted. The biggest problem I had today was that coming in, we had talent and depth at almost every position. What we are missing is impact players. Guys that can make an immediate difference. Is that Paul Williams, Chris Henry and Michael Griffin? In my opinion, no. They are depth players you take when you are tweaking an already good team. We need impact guys. We need a #1 receiver, not depth. We need a feature back to take some pressure off LenDale, not a developmental project. We need a stud safety, not a good, versatile guy that Vincent Fuller or Courtland Finnegan will likely develop into. The only position I liked drafting for depth in was corner - hence my preference for Wade - and we didn't even TAKE a corner. I'm very confused about this front office's priorities. Do they think we're on the brink of contending? Because we simply aren't, especially after this highly dissapointing offseason. I want to trust that Reinfeldt knows what he's doing, but he has no track record (like Polian or Angelo) to fall back on.
