I agree entirely. They have a very good history of good drafting. I don't know what happened this year. It was terrible. I got all excited for Meachem, and when they announced the selection of Griffin, I swore loudly and threw a pen across the room in frustration. 2nd round they could have rebounded with Smith, but no, they took a RB who did nothing during the season. Such a crap pick. I hope Vince has fun having no one to throw to next season. Overall, I was thoroughly disgusted. The biggest problem I had today was that coming in, we had talent and depth at almost every position. What we are missing is impact players. Guys that can make an immediate difference. Is that Paul Williams, Chris Henry and Michael Griffin? In my opinion, no. They are depth players you take when you are tweaking an already good team. We need impact guys. We need a #1 receiver, not depth. We need a feature back to take some pressure off LenDale, not a developmental project. We need a stud safety, not a good, versatile guy that Vincent Fuller or Courtland Finnegan will likely develop into. The only position I liked drafting for depth in was corner - hence my preference for Wade - and we didn't even TAKE a corner. I'm very confused about this front office's priorities. Do they think we're on the brink of contending? Because we simply aren't, especially after this highly dissapointing offseason. I want to trust that Reinfeldt knows what he's doing, but he has no track record (like Polian or Angelo) to fall back on.
