  1. It looks like buffalo is looking to give Hurley a substantial raise. Its setting up nicely for Warble or Drew. Like Howl and, it's Hurley's to lose at this point. If it falls through? I wonder if they would look outside the box (Randy Brown) current director of player development for the Bulls as well as a Chicago native.
  2. Agreed, this team is not very good. Offensively, they're bad and rely on their size rather than ability on defense. Yet they're likely to put that 76 Hoosiers team out of their misery. The NCAA needs to keep players until their a junior or turn 21 to remain relevant.
  3. It's a very smart move. 24yo, degree from a strong academic institution, 650k signing bonus, any salary from endorsements, card shows, and his base salary from one year he's off to a good start in life. More would be smart to do so. Do you get to keep all of the signing bonus if you quit before the contract is over? Aren't rookie contracts 3 year deals? If you retire due to injury issues, I think you can keep it. And a concussion, even if "undiagnosed", is probably not something the NFL wants to be labeling as a non-injury at this point in time. It's not a can of worms the League wants at this point. They're not in a position to defend preemptive actions against future concussions. Honestly, if I'm 24 with all the data on head trauma and I feel I've had concussions that I would do the same.

  5. Kentucky over Villanova. Texas is probably the biggest upset I have.

  7. I care! Putting that unrealistic tier is just cruel. Brian Wardle is definitely my pick for best combination of realistic and affordable. He even seems like a guy that would stick around and build the program instead of darting to the Big Ten or elsewhere. Wardle would be a great choice. I would also put Rick Stansbury, although he fits as a coach over 55 that has never been to a FF (formerly of Miss St, now an assistant at A&M) as a candidate that would be a good fit.
  8. 2016 1st rounder/ staff ace Cal Quantrill of Stanford is having THS.
  9. I will have my pick with in the hour.
  10. Burnitz was 6th in the league among guys who struck out 120 or more times.
  11. Good to see UK play this well against this kind of pace.
  12. Yeah, that's where I am. Not a big Gregory fan though. I still have no idea why you're high on Dupree. I'll gladly be wrong. They drafted his clone 20 years ago. Biggest of the edge class, but every bit as athletic. Has 3-4 OLB experience, including dropping in coverage. I think hes more dynamic than Fowler, is more dimensional than Ray who wins solely on speed, and doesn't have the size limitations that Beasley and Gregory could (admittedly, Gregory could still add size according to most but I don't see it). He's not good at shedding blockers at the pro level. You look at what he did vs Sec and he struggled minus one play vs South Carolina.
  13. https://sports.yahoo.com/news/shaun-king-s-mock-draft-1-0--qb-mariota-falls-to-bears-230353322.html If Mariota is there or Cooper, Im taking the highest bidder and trading down.

  15. I thought it was the former Peoria Chiefs contributor here.
  16. You're liking of Miller Park should make you ashamed of yourself. Comerica is miles of ahead of it, despite the surroundings.
  17. Dumb question, how do I drop my guys to get the roster valid?
  18. Surprised all this mention of the '02 class and no mention of Zambrano. Having the top class doesn't guarantee anything, it just helps. There is a difference, every athlete is different, new development system compared to Hendry/Stockstill, Maddon compared to Baker, etc. (I believe Oneri had the smaller yet more successful Latin scout). It's more difficult now to build up top farm systems now compared to 15 years ago.
  19. There's likely no chance Bryant becomes a 60-65 hitter, they'll want him to improve his contact ratio but there's nothing wrong with a Thome like approach. That article was weird.
  20. Too many years to get him away from SD, better FA market next year. They were wise in how they handled it.
  21. He did better than I thought he would.
  22. I agree, just start throwing offers out there and seeing what happens. At this point, he's not getting a 5 yr 115 mil deal. Lower the years, maybe even an overpriced 2 yr deal with a player option.
  23. Keepers: Jay Bruce OF-441.25 Jacoby Ellsbury OF-361.00 Alex Cobb SP-404.00 Homer Bailey SP-480.00 Total=1686.25 Exempt: Mike Zunino-C Brian Dozier-2B Kyle Hendricks-SP Jose Quintana-SP Danny Salazar-SP Carlos Martinez-SP/RP Minors: Alex Meyer-SP Dominic Smith-1B Aledmys Diaz-SS Miguel Sano-3B Archie Bradley-SP Hunter Harvey-SP I have room to add on additional points and no one is off the block.
