  1. Bryant should have been penalized 15 yds for running on the field and yelling at the referee with his helmet off.
  2. It appears Bourn could be had for less, hopefully including Jackson and eating some of that contract.
  3. I'm hoping Ryan Pace and Saints accept the interview, interviews well and we can go from there.
  4. You're giving GBs credit to McCarthy solely and not their FO to draft and develop from within? They're the best at it so they are the outlier but you're a fool if youre only giving credit to coaching.
  5. There are no gm studs. It's the coaching that matters. You're putting too much of an emphasis on coaching with the current list. There's no coaching HR either. H arbaugh might've been that but we won't know. This 1st year is going to require something with Cutler's cap hit and the talent they need to acquire around him. The year after, they'll cut him and go from there.
  6. So far, I've been disappointed in all the reports on who they're interested in. Kubiak would be fine, not enthusiastic about the FO possibilities. As there isn't as much rebuilding in football, with that defense, it is a rebuild with the defense and special teams. Another [expletive] hire and it's 5 more years of crap.
  7. Let's hope something changes. After him, the names mentioned are uninspiring.
  8. I'd love to see the Bears go after Gamble.
  9. I have no problem with them doing that. I am hoping that Decosta gets an interview as well as Eliot Wolf.
  10. Because Phillips and mccaskey aren't football guys and their last search firm they brought recommended Emery.
  11. After reading Goony's explanation I agree with that. I have no problem with that.
  12. It'suotewith that="David"] Are you surprised? This is the same thing me and WF22 were complaining about. They don't have a football guy at the top, they don't follow a proper chain of command. Phillips and mccaskey have their hand in the cookie jar regardless if Accorsi is there or not. this isn't about them not having a football guy at the top. it's about needing to hire the guy at the top first. Shouldn't that be included in the role of Accorsi to state common sense that the GM should be hired before the HC?
  13. Are you surprised? This is the same thing me and WF22 were complaining about. They don't have a football guy at the top, they don't follow a proper chain of command. Phillips and mccaskey have their hand in the cookie jar regardless if Accorsi is there or not.
  14. I'd be ok with Ryan as HC but they'd need someone like Linehan to run the offense. If that list is somewhat accurate, minus Decosta, I'd be disappointed.
  15. I really like Groce as a coach but you're right that he can't recruit on a national level.
  16. Why does that hierarchy issue matter to you? As long as Phillips isn't actually the GM's "boss," I don't see any reason to care about whether there's a guy called the president of football operations above the GM or not. Phillips is still the GMs boss though. Accorsi will make recommendations but the final decision goes through Phillips and mccaskey. I don't see how anyone can be content with the current state.
  17. It's not too difficult to grasp that I want someone between Phillips and the GM. Accorsi doesn't fill that void in my opinion.
  18. Maybe you should listen to the press conference before spouting off nonsense. Accorsi is part of an NFL committee that manages/compiles the pool of candidates for GM and coaching jobs. He's part of it but only Accorsi has been hired as a consultant specifically by the Bears. That's great he's in that role but I want a further separation. I want that person to have a long term vision. Accorsi has no long term vision with long term accountability.
  19. I'd rather whoever is consulting that they have had a prominent role in football within the last 8 years.
  20. They have a true FB guy running the consulting situation. They will have a true FB guy at the head of football operations. The very top of the organization is not what matters. This consultant was alive during Pearl Harbor who will make recommendations for the coach and GM with Phillips and McCaskey making the final choice. Don't like it.
  21. Subpar drafts, FAs, and trades. Probably would not hurt if they could have kept him in a scouting role. This division craps and having to start there is annoying.
  22. I hate these outside consultants, probably won't be as disastrous as their previous GM search but disappointing they won't have a true FB guy at the top. This is such a poorly run organization.
  23. Any thoughts on Billick, I wanted him last time over T restman.
  24. I don't understand the signing, they're acquiring players into a position of strength. Even if they do trade someone else and it creates a spot for Motte, there's nothing here to state it's a wise move based on the contract amount, age, and injury history. I would much rather have Wright and address a position of need rather than this and save some cash. Hopefully, I'm proven wrong.
