  1. In theory you could, but you'd need a flawless off-season or a H. Walker type trade and I don't see that happening.
  2. Isn't Wilson supposed to be that deep threat? He's got pretty good speed but is definitely no burner. I'm thinking Eddie Royal, Johnny Knox type. Either of those guys in their prime (which is basically like 24-25 for those types) would open this offense so much. This draft looks better for bigger WR, but I'm sure we can get one late still. Bonus points if he can return kicks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I love Tyler Lockett of K-State.
  3. I had them at 8-8/9-7, in no way did I see this occuring. I expected some regression on offense and improvement on defense/STs (without Podlesh) but not this.
  4. Before this mess really got bad... I thought only Tucker and Joey D were gone. Now, I think most of the staff is gone at this point. Emery is likely safe as is Phillips (unfort.) Yeah, which means he gets another HC pick. Which means more than likely he's here for another 3. Gross. The tornado of '14 isn't strong enough to tear down the entire house. (thank you da bum for inspiring me to right so well)
  5. Yeah Doug and OB said 10,549 now shows, I do think ownership will get involved but the Bears/NFL are still getting their money from the season ticket holders if they show up or not. If the 10,000 fans that didn't come were going to spend $20 each, that's only $200,000. I am not sure if that is alarming enough for them to decide to eat $10m in contracts by cutting Trestman, Kromer, Tucker, DeCamilis, and possibly Emery, while paying another coaching staff at least $3m next year. I'm sure it got their attention to some degree though. Parking too as well as overall viewership and listening on the radio (ads). But it's more about image than anything.

  7. President/CEO-John Schneider current GM of Seattle (will he take it as he's comfortable in Seattle) GM-Eric Decosta Baltimore Ravens (will he take it as Ozzie still lingers on?) HC-Todd Bowles OC-Scott Linehan DC-Defer to Bowles. I think I'd take Schmeider. A little less experience but obviously young enough to stay in the role. I wonder what his duties were as Director of Football operations.... More executive or more player evaluation? Anyways if Schneider is acting as like a GM in your role I'm not sure DeCosta would make that switch rather than just wait out Ozzie. And I have to be convinced on Bowles. I know he had crappy personnel in Philly and lots of injuries and player loss in Arizona but I'm not convinced at his defensive prowess. Isn't Arizona near the bottom of the league this year in pass defense (I think they were when I researched Bowles a few weeks ago). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk He's from more of the player evaluation background. According to PFF, Arizona is ranked 7th against the pass this year and 4th against the run without an offense. He's works in a front office, supposedly a good communicator, etc.
  8. It still feels bad that my 1st initial reaction was to assume that if he does good until the ASB that they could flip him for prospects as the primary reason of signing him, I hope this will soon go away. I don't see the Cubs as a legit contender so I'll stick with that premise. I'm hoping they control his usage and maximize productivity (no 3 days in a row etc.) to get the most out of him come the July deadline.

  10. This is a great start to get to that point, still need a few more players and development from more.
  11. If anything, wouldn't we see that more in Russell, Baez, or Castro as far as options at 3rd if they have concerns about Bryant long-term? I hope they test the waters on Matt Joyce (obviously doesn't seem like they'd answer the phone) as well as Michael Bourn (Jackson and a prospect with cash). Bourn Castro Rizzo Soler Joyce Bryant/Valbuena Valbuena/Baez Montero/Castillo Hopefully have enough money for McCarthy and call it a day. :D
  12. I mentioned when he met with the Cubs scout (Zielinski) who eventually ended up signing him, he was wearing a backwards Sox hat at that 1st meeting.
  13. Looks like Samardzija is going to the White Sox, I'd expect him to sign long term.
  14. Joel Sherman is reporting it is a one year deal. I'm sure there's an option in there.
  15. This is a great point. Ugh. Dave Leito left after an NCAA Tournament and NIT appearance, and that was before the program became the embarassment of high major basketball. What would keep a successful DePaul coach around besides a new arena? You're going to likely go after someone who is from Chicago or is an alum, I know they came close with Strickland before as an assistant but I would go after him as the head coach.
  16. Matt Joyce is available from TB, no idea what the market is for him. Just wondering if that cost is less than going after someone like Markakis.
  17. I know they got blown out by UK last week but what tonight made you say this? I assumed they lost again, but then checked to see they won a game by 27 points after outscoring their opponent 51-22 in the first half. UK is just that demoralizing. :D
  18. My issue wasn't with them getting him. It was with the hope he would continue to progress from last year, he had improve to justify the contract. He's regressed and it is a financial liability so far.
  19. Yes, this. He's not the disaster his haters think he is, but he also hasn't been as awesome as frequently as he has in seasons past. Falling in the middle most of the time isn't enough with this team. I don't mean to keep repeating myself but I don't know where this idea that he was more frequently awesome or whatever in the past is coming from. He's basically the same guy. Maybe a little better. I mean, he's having his best year of his career statistically. I get that you're saying that his numbers are lying, but I just don't agree with your perception at all. Is it being being clouded by not actually having seen the good games? That's not a shot. I'm serious. If you're going with QB rating, completion %, etc which is the equivalent to basing baseball career years on batting average and wins. All the advanced stats tell a different story. Which advanced stats? They've never really liked him, so... A lot of those do put a lot of weight on high leverage plays, so it makes sense that they'd like him less this year if he's in position to hurt the team more with his mistakes since they are more reliant on the offense than ever. Dvoa, Dyar, QBR, Win probability, etc. He was better last year and definitely better in one of his Denver years.

  21. You know he's 1 week removed from a 330 yard passing game that featured a handful of big plays. Holy hell, YES. Cutler's having an odd good season, and we're not seeing nearly as much of great Cutler like we have in the past. It's weird, and when he's off he's looking REALLY off. Not like where's giving it up, but just like he's bad at almost everything else. I don't know if it's the OL giving up so much pressure or whatever the [expletive] is wrong with Marshall or Black Unicorn and his drops, but he's looked like he has today too often. This routine is as meatball as they come. There's like absolutely no proof. Aliens, man, aliens. Look at the stats. He's slightly above average at best. He's been a disappointment like most of the team. If your best statistical category is 12th, it's a bad year.
  22. Great timing for Arkansas to make their leap back to relevancy. They happen to be a 14 pt favorite vs Wake tonight. Anybody know how they are supposed to be this season? They'll be below .500, Manning is their new coach. They had their best players either graduate or transfer. I expect Arkansas to win 20 and make the tourney.
  23. Would the Cubs have any interest in Michael Bourn? Cleveland can't unload Swisher with out eating 90% of that contract. Maybe Cash, prospect, and Jackson for Bourn?

  25. PTR's hands are too sensative to wash dishes once his Rush debit card is declined.
