  1. Cutler has been cursed with poor timing and now every mistake he'll make will be magnified even more, especially with the new contract. This offense isn't geared towards him right now, it's a safe offense right now not geared towards risk taking. He's still going to take risks, just 15 yards deep instead of 40 to 50 yards into double coverage. It went from a team that could stretch the field and run the ball to a team that allows teams to press and not defend the deep pass. Now, they're running Teas Tech style of offense without the quick pace and it's not working. Last year, they did everything they could to protect Cutler and this year they're not. Mills was just as bad last year but they gave him help. I'm just as frustrated with the loyalty to worse players. No way Shea should be starting, he's not a starter anywhere. Count me in as someone who needs to see improvements before I can say that I'd want Trestman returning next year.
  2. I'll balance out Snood by stating that I'm predicting that LSU will defeat Ole Miss.
  3. Ryan, by listing additional lack of morality moments associated with them, you're making their argument for them. Not many programs during Kelly's tenure have been flawless but there's additional weight given to elite programs and especially ones that promote angelic imagery.
  4. This is going to be a bad week.
  5. UK played a bad game, just don't match up well against Louisiana State. They run the ball well and strong against the pass. The talent between East and West is overwhelming. There's still a significant talent difference.
  6. Narduzzi or Beaty would be my top 2 on that list. Beaty because he is the best recruiter of the likely candidates (O rgeron too). Narduzzi because he does the most with less.
  7. Dew, any bowl projection for Tennessee yet? I have them pegged for Birmingham.
  8. He's already passed on comparable (better?) jobs, but a credible source said he'd be interested in KU. It probably depends on if he wants to become a HC now and what jobs become available. I doubt he'd be a candidate for Michigan. Seems like he'd be a more logical fit in the Big 10. Not sure if anything will open up there, though. Purdue? UI? He's probably my favorite choice, though I think he's a longshot. Thoughts on Fritz? He has been a winner (depending on how much you value that). Unknown as far as a recruiter. Also don't know how well the option will translate in the P5.
  9. Kyle, although you're probably arguing for argument's sake... It's about philosophy (stats vs. scouts) If you're comparing the resume of Epstein and Sabean as similar in past results, while they have different philosophies, you're going to gravitate towards the one you believe to lead to greater future success. No need to make this a line in the sand argument.
  10. They might be ranked in the top 10 but they obviously had a bad game. That doesn't ignore the fact that the line has been improved (espec. Young) and they were coming off a horrible week against GB.
  11. It was good to see more speed on defense, something they sorely need. The pessimistic side of me is concerned of how well the D-Line played. I'd be curious to see how well they will do when the D-Line plays like they did against GB. With that said, I'd rather see them go with youth.
  12. The only thing he really has to do is improve that bullpen on the cheap, which is what he does better than anyone.
  13. I hate the state of Florida. Should've moved them years ago, the stadium debacle and guaranteed lack of resources was probably the final straw. I'd definitely take Freidman over Theo.
  14. Yesterday was his 1st game back.
  15. Depending on Forte's reaction, that was a possible completion.
  16. It'll be tough to acquire a decent HB given how bad it has been for the elite HBs at the start of the year with what has happened to Charles and AP. My backup HB is the one position I don't feel comfortable with.
  17. 6. Not just #80, the whole team. I still can't believe the Bears won that game without even getting to 28 points. The TE had 3, Jones had 2, White had one...
  18. Kyle's team is getting hot. I'm upset I have to rely on Quick to stay in 1st place tonight.
  19. Yeah, the east being as down as it is makes evaluating Kentucky tough. They look a lot better than they have in the past couple of years, but is that a result of weaker competition or better play by the Wildcats? I think it's some combination of both, but exactly how much of each is tough to tell. One thing I do know, Tennessee is really unlikely to beat UK unless we improve considerably before then. I've never said that before, even the year we lost to UK. It's a combo, I think UK is probably a 5 win team based on their current talent, they'll probably end up with 7 wins and should've been 8 wins. They've stayed healthy so far this year too. The good news is that despite the age of Dupree and Smith at DE, they're pretty young throughout the team. I definitely think UK has a decent shot winning 2 games against UT/UL/LSU/MIZZOU.
  20. It's bad when it looks like a screen blocking scheme on a regular pass play.
  21. I hope they don't get conservative on offense too.
  22. Sometimes you hear what you want to hear. I remember when they changed the rules for more touchbacks, how much I thought the Bears were getting screwed. Now, I hope they start at the 20 every time.
  23. Vereen with a Major Wright angle on that one.
  24. If this is another concussion, he should be done for awhile.
