  1. UK and the Gators are tied at 20 with 3 minutes left. Unfort, Uk hasn't stopped them in the 2nd half. Still a much better team than last year.
  2. Fwiw, I still love Mosley.
  3. nope. nope nope nope. It seemed to work for the Cards (Wacha) and the Sox (Sale) for some examples - it's a possibility I'm not one to say TINSTAAPP, but it would have to be their BPA on the board and fit into their draft strategy. If they follow a similar pattern as last year, it might have to be a safer pick with a smaller ceiling than someone who might command more money with a higher ceiling. As much as they say Schwarber was the best bat in the draft, his lower contract demands played a key role as well. I think this part of the strategy was 100% related to the fact that they thought they could get the high school arms they did in rounds 3-5 at the prices they did. If those guys weren't going to be in play, I don't think you necessarily see them making that pick. Definitely, but I don't want them to exclude a BPA just to get some arms into the system. Their draft strategy will be determined in May just early speculation of how it will play out going on right now. They're currently into the Fall Ball collegiate scene followed by pre-season one on ones during the Winter to get early ideas for signability.
  4. I picked up McFadden as a throw-in earlier this week in a trade. MJD is out for at least a week with surgery on his hand. The Texan's D is good, but susceptible to the run (apparently, as Morris rushed at a 6.5 YPC pace last week). Would anyone choose one of the above over McFadden this week? I'm leaning DM. You're making the right call.
  5. I watched that live yesterday and it was weird. I'm sure there was an advisor there who was not happy, he's still heavily involved with the League as he mentioned his close relationship with Goodell. I definitely think they're covering it up by playing the dumb card.
  6. Or you could think we'll be in the running for a 2nd wild card, and putzing away 3 months might not be the best idea. Who is recommending keeping him down until July? Oh, right, hyperbole instead of rational discussion. Got it. I assuming that includes a learning curve once arriving in the majors rather than 3 months in Iowa. I'm torn, I understand the extra year but we've suffered long enough and waited for this plan and Bryant is likely the best one of the bunch who is ready. Of course, if everything falls into place they'll have enough revenue to pay for that extra year.
  7. This might be one of those games where I turn it off after the 1st. I don't see them matching the physical nature of the 49'ers.
  8. Naive question, but what does that actually mean? Is "glove-side" relative to the pitcher, such that with RH Underwood Johnson is talking outside for RH hitters and inside for LH hitters? Or is "glove-side" relative to the catcher target, such that "glove-side" improvement means he's improved his inside fastball against RH hitters and outside for LH hitters? Relative to the pitcher.

  10. This is the give gift that keeps on giving. ESPN OTL is reporting that they several reports from multiple sources that Rice did explain to Goodell that he struck her, although some reports say it was closed fist or open (maybe he tried Daniel Tosh's theory?). Regardless if that came out, I don't see where Rice was being sketchy or evasive as he even apologized for his actions.
  11. Moreno.
  12. Also, the NFL wants to keep Congress and any potential violation of anti-trust laws out of this. The weird investigation involving the FBI guy and the Mora and Rooney family has no subpoena power, it is in their best interest to keep Congress from meddling. Given their horrific ratings, Congress might want to be seen on ESPN again (see Steroids/MLB) rather than just C-SPAN.
  13. So the nfl is not accountable to anybody. Not difficult to understand. I'm talkin about the possibility of punishing the league owners and not just their lackey. Unless they have some agreement that they uphold some kind of standard then you can't really hold the leave accountable legally or financially. Apart from them looking bad there is no available recourse. They're accountable to TV contracts, sponsors, and fans and anything that generates income. We've already seen how much public perception dictates the NFL's actions. A league viewed as thugs without rules would not sit well.
  14. He obviously violated the Code of Conduct and was subject to suspension. The flaw is the subjectivity of it and how much variance there is. Now, they're trying to make it more black and white without ruffling the NFLPA.
  15. Can't wait to see the degree of separation to Goodell.
  16. They do, they're in their ivory tower looking down. It's like the Panthers owner (Richardson) crying about how domestic violence is so bad and that Carolina has made many steps to prevent it while cheering for Hardy this Sunday.
  17. And do what after you look at the owners? They're paying him 30+ mil a year to handle issues like this. They shouldn't have to instruct him to suspend him further that's his job, they're not babysitters for Goodell. They pay him all that money to keep their hands clean from this. Um ok. So if I ever own a massive hugely profitable business exempt from us antitrust law that also benefits greatly from state and local land and tax deals and questionable accounting principals; as long as I pay an unlikeable guy a lot of money I'm exempt from criticism. What would you want to happen to the owners of the Tampa Bay Bucs?
  18. Flex (non-PPR) Pick 1: 1)M. Floyd. 2)K. Moreno 3)T. West Leaning Floyd.

  20. I wasn't aware of the second point. Point three I don't understand. Your upset they responded to public opinion ?(well not so much for Rice but future instances) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk When it takes public outcry rather than common sense/morals to create a tougher punishment. When you suspend players 4 games for weed and only two games for knocking out a woman and dragging her around, it shouldn't take people bitching about it to change that. Of course the previous conditions were bad, but I can't really list trying to improve that in my negatives column. I mean it's not like this is the first ever domestic abuse case with an NFL player. It seems like your just repeating issue one, which I'd agree with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It shows they care about their image rather than the victims of domestic violence.
  21. That was disgusting. But I think that was more Baltimore specific, especially the tone deaf tweets they sent out at the time. They met at the NFL Hdqrts, Balt. might have coordinated it but Goodell should've stopped it based on the stupidity of it. They didn't want this to what it has become and knew she wasn't going to say anything too damning with him next to her.

When you suspend players 4 games for weed and only two games for knocking out a woman and dragging her around, it shouldn't take people bitching about it to change that. It's a flawed and disgusting logic. They wanted to take a tough stance on illegal drugs and wanted to take a sweep it under rug approach to domestic violence.
  23. The issues I have with the NFL: 2 game suspension after they knew Rice had knocked her out. Using prior instances of Rice and charities factoring in the current event as far as a smaller suspension. After public outcry, changing it to a 6 game suspension. Lying about not viewing the tape. Trying to cover it up. They knew what happened and got caught. Having his battered wife interviewed w/the abuser right next to her. Greg Hardy and Ray McDonald still playing. Instigating a public response of the fiancé apologizing for the actions of a violent criminal.
  24. Out of sight, out of mind. Coward move by a coward league. If I'm Rice's agent and the NFLPA, I'm investigating whether or not the NFL tampered with that decision and I protest that.
  25. As an outsider, I still enjoy the banter.
