  1. Although it might have been mentioned earlier in this thread. Trestman called a horrible two minute drive at the end of the game. He played for OT, they could run all day against a horrible run defense and on 3 and 1 with one star receiver hobbled and another one injured, they try for a pass. Worst case, they don't get it and let the clock run out and then use the TO or if they get the 1st, spike the ball and get a couple of chance at the end zone with the TO if there's a sack.
  2. If you had the Bears at anything above 10-6, I don't see how you can't be panicking. It's not about losing to Buffalo, it's about how the defense looked for me and who is running that defense compared to last year.
  3. Even if some sort of investigation proves that people at the top saw the video and then they lied about it, I cannot imagine too much of a backlash. Maybe some deputy loses his job and a sponsor gets replaced by another waiting in the wings. I'm thinking more in terms of public outcry. Maybe the NFL's classes on teaching women how to learn the game will also teach them how to take a punch.
  4. Ask Leonard Little.
  5. Meh, he's old and slow. It obviously doesn't improve his performance but he had all day Saturday to recover. He still would have been old and not earning what he was paid for regardless if he was in bed on Friday night at 9PM.
  6. I hope the NFL lying about not seeing the full tape and then still only giving a two game suspension bites them in the ass.
  7. Briggs is probably going to be the latest Chicago sports guy to be run out of town by a lynch mob. This is the kind of news that never would have made the light of day if the pitchforks weren't already out. That said, he appears done as a football player. Based on his age, contract, and performance yesterday, fans have a right on Monday morning to be upset with his performance. Staying out late gives dumb fans the right to be upset about that, although they should be upset for what he's making for declining skills.
  8. Do you really need it? The eye test while not always accurate will tell the story on this one.
  9. This league is run by horrible people. They'll lie till they get caught to protect their scum-bag image. Think the concussion debacle changed their attitude? They're such pieces of [expletive]. I would love to see former players and their medical costs bankrupt this [expletive] (it'll never happen though).
  10. The NFL is horrible but what about the criminal justice system? Agreed, you let him take an anger management program and he's gets nothing. He does this to a federal official and he could face up to 10 years. Judicial system is such BS.
  11. Great opening week ratings, no one carted off with serious head/neck injuries, and they adjusted their penalties for beating the crap out of women... He's acting like SSR's avatar.
  12. I thought the line in particular played very well. Lance Briggs had a terrible game and, because of two plays, gave up 85 of Buffalo's 193 yards on the ground. He completely missed his assignment on each of those long run plays. D Line still needs more pressure, but I thought they played a better game than people are recognizing. In what way? They didn't get pressure and were more or less non-factors. Not being as awful as last year's line doesn't make them ok, let alone qualify as playing well. No pressure and where was the run defense? It's telling when Buffalo is running all over them and they still play nickel defense to get Shea out of there.
  13. I'm hoping UK can keep it within 10, most likely by 17 though.
  14. The O-Line played pretty well, I'm not a Mills fan but overall given his reps and who he was playing, it wasn't bad. Forte, Young, Alshon, and Bennett played well. Cutler was bad, Allen was no better than a declining Peppers was last year, LBs were awful and Emery failed to upgrade the safeties and LBs. To me, they go 0-2 and I can't see them going 10-4. The biggest concern is Slauson and if it's a lower or higher ankle sprain. I'd rather see De la Puente over Garza anyways but they have no depth at O-Line. Cutler can't be Romo and that INT was likely a 10 point swing. Unless that throw to Bennett was a comeback route, that throw was Cutler too as Graham jumped the route as Cutler telegraphed that throw.
  15. My ATS games of the week are Iowa St covering against Kansas State, K State is overrated at this point and the Cyclones aren't as bad as what we saw. Kansas State will still win but closer to one touchdown instead of two. My other one is Vanderbilt against Ole miss. 20 points for an away team is way too steep. Ole miss will still win but much closer than that. In the pros, Kansas City will do much better than the 3 they're getting against Tennessee.
  16. Games like this for UK is just mental masturbation for the fans. Impressive win but still don't know anything about them compared to last year.
  17. I got called into work this evening and can't make the draft.
  18. Turbograpx16 anyone else? Book, splatterhouse?
  19. I actually liked Finfer before he left for 87.7.
  20. Jiggets has been the only one to be somewhat decent as a former athlete talking about every sport, of course he got stuck with North. Bull and the Bear was awful. Hampton was worse than all of them. There hasn't been a good sports writer either that made that transition.
  21. Meh, I understand prior commitments but I was hoping for Holmes. It's going to be a bland show with Mannelly trying too hard on sports other than FB.
  22. I pondered the thought of U. Jimenez for Jackson, that drop in velo is too concerning as well as the additional year. The safest bet would be to cut the losses and minimize his role as a future long reliever/6th starter.
  23. The draft date has been changed to Thursday August 28th at 8PM CST
  24. I would put AP at the top. Forte would be 2nd.
  25. 10 of the 16 teams are filled. I'm sure everyone in the league would prefer it to be 16 from here.
