  1. Luis Gonzalez used to walk around the clubhouse with a 2 ft. dildo inside the Astros clubhouse and hung it from the door, there was sign attached that said "squeeze the dong for good luck!". Whne they were in a slump, he'd walk around with it hanging out his towel. It happens all the time, I don't see it as a big deal and something blown way out proportion.
  2. Not mine, they could name it what they want, it wouldn't bother me. If the money allocated towards naming rights actually improved the team, then I would rather see that than keeping it Wrigley. Wrigley will always being back the same memories regardless of the name.
  3. I'm the only one who said I doubt he'll make it. While a president's security is tighter than ever and much more difficult for an attempt on his life, given the hatred nature of this society, I would be surprised if there wasn't attempts at his life.
  4. Floyd is a very good young starter. I give Cooper credit for working with Gavin's strengths again after Philly got him off-track.
  5. If the Cubs didn't have Johnson and Pagan was the RH'ed option still, I'd still want Michaels in a sec.
  6. The Cubs released: RHP Scott Meyer. From last June:
  7. Are there any active 80 runners? Nook Logan, Joey Gathright. Taveras is prob. the fastest runner, but since he is right-handed, he doesn't get the same advantage. Taveras was clocked 3.56 on a bunt from the right side.
  8. 80 runner is better than 3.8 from the left side and 3.9 from the right.
  9. You're correct. 4.01-4.10-70 runner 4.11-4.20-60 runner (RH'ers)
  10. Hmmm. There;s this guy down in Iowa that I think could come up and really pitch the lights out. What's his name....Hill, I think. Like I said, they still need a #2. :)
  11. They need a #2 starter more than anything else.
  12. Aaron Shinsano said (in 1908's original post) Lee is "right around 4 seconds" from home to first. The average big league lefty is 4.2 seconds from home to first. So nothing too out of the ordinary? The article made him sound Jose Reyes fast.. Certainly not Jose Reyes speed and someone can correct me on this but I believe a lefty at 4.0 seconds to first is a 70 on the 20-80 scale. 3.91-4.00-70 runner 4.01-4.10-60 runner
  13. I know: 3B Pedro Alvarez, Vanderbilt 1B Eric Hosmer, American Heritage HS (FL) RHP Gerrit Cole, Orange Lutheran HS (CA) RHP Josh Fields, Georgia Im not 100% positive but I think the big RH'er from Indiana is as well.
  14. It's honestly gonna be tough to root against Wellemeyer. Part of me hopes he gives up 3 thru 6, and the Cubs tack on a bunch on the pen and win going away. I always liked Todd as well and thought he never fully got his chance to show what he could do in a Cubs uniform.
  15. Welly got off to a rough start in his last outing but settled down after about the 4th. If that happens again, the Cubs should have enough quality ABs to knock him around. I always thought Wellemeyer's best out pitch was his change-up and in his last start, he was more of a two-seam/slider pitcher with hardly any off-speed stuff and had no command early on. I'm hoping he's overly amped about this start being against his former team and the only game on and struggles with the strike zone.
  16. I don't mind that he's sent down, I would've kept Gallagher down though (despite his wishes of being on the 25 regardless of role I assume) and brought up Ascanio or Cotts and used Marshall in long-relief. It's much better for Hill to work on his issues there and Listach won't have the quick finger like Lou.
  17. I seriously hope but doubt that Sean will be in the rotation.
  18. I'll be there as well.
  19. 1)No, it was torn and couldn't tear anymore. 2)Gallardo prob. said he was ok, as much blame as Yost is getting, how about the trainer? 3)Wait till the swelling goes down to be 100% sure, but it'll prob. require surgury. 4)Not sure of replacement options, too early in the year to say who is in and who is out. 5)Act in a respectful manner and if someone acts like a jackass towards you, turn the other cheek and let the mods handle it.
  20. I requested my two seats this morning.
  21. Relax, it's one of 162 games and was prob. the worst defensive, managed, and baserunning game of the year and they were still in a position to win and should've won. They're right there with a Cards team that is playing well but less talented over the long-haul, the Cubs have done nothing to lessen my expectation of them being the best team in the NLC when all is said and done.
  22. I'm going to try and be there depending if I have class or not.
  23. Why shouldn't he do that hop? It helps his timing for whatever reason and it makes him more comfortable catching the ball. His calf was going to pop anwyays, prob. on his next acceleration either in the field or at the plate.
  24. My perception wasn't that high of him to being with. Friday Night Lights was an outstanding, but Three Night in August was an awful fluff piece. Obviously him conducting himself like an ass didn't help matters.
