  1. An effective Eyre would be huge for this pen.
  2. Qualls is going to abuse them with that slider.
  3. Why bring in Eyre in a pressure sit. so soon?
  4. Worst case scenario is more likely to be runners moved over. Best case scenario, a plus runner bunt for a hit.
  5. Fwiw, I would've had Young bunt for a hit there.
  6. Our best shortstop setting cost us right there. Ozzie Smith would not have touched that one.
  7. What do you want from him? The dude got to 3rd, must guys wouldn't. It's called proper baserunning.
  8. Johnson should've been halfway, instead of tagging.
  9. Nice to see Ryan working 3 pitches. His command has been much better.
  10. Dempster keeps proving me wrong, although we'll see what happens when his arm goes dead for a period of time.
  11. That was Lou on that one, no way Lee passes that up unless there's a take sign.
  12. They're not straight. Not hustle by Soriano.
  13. Chris Perez LaRussa isn't the type to throw a closer in there w/out ML experience, despite having the stuff and moxie to close, his struggles with command and control would likely equate to him being in a role like McClellan and work his way into that role. If they do something, Franklin would like close, McClellan bumps to set-up, Perez would be the 7th inning guy, Villone sticks as the Loogy.
  14. Stairs is a legit hitting DH, he belongs in the lineup almost everyday.
  15. The Rays are such an awesome story this season. You just can't suck forever. And it's a victory for defensive improvements as a way to turn around a team And they're only going to get better. Not only in the next few years, but also this year. Garza and Kazmir have contributed absolutely nothing so far and they're still, what, 3 games over .500 now? I live near Tampa and there's a lot of good feelings going on right now, for the first time EVER. Wait till Price, Davis, McGee, Davis, Hellickson, and the #1 overall pick make their way up. Give Jackson and Sonnanstine credit at the back of the rotation while Kaz and Garza were hurt as well as Hammel. Minus yesterday, that bullpen has been outstanding as well. It'll be interesting to see how they handle the trade deadline as they do have holes and plenty of valued pieces down on the farm.
  16. Navi hits a GS for the Rays as they take a 8-3 in the top of the 13th. Jackson deserved the win tonight but Percival had his 1st bad outing and blew the save. Rays still in 2nd place.
  17. I went with other, if your 21st B-Day happens to fall during Marti Gra weekend, unless you live there) there's no better reason to make that trip down south.
  18. Not mine, they could name it what they want, it wouldn't bother me. If the money allocated towards naming rights actually improved the team, then I would rather see that than keeping it Wrigley. Wrigley will always being back the same memories regardless of the name. but the money WON'T go to the team - that's the point. It will all go directly into Zell's already bloated checkbook. Eh, I still don't really care if they change the name of Wrigley. Of course, I don't really care if they have to tear it down.
