  1. One of Gallagher/Marshall/Mateo and Colvin, imo.
  2. Welcome aboard! He's played winter ball before, though.
  3. I think they'd net either a young guy who might put it all together and become a star or a star who is starting to go on the decline of his career. Overall, a B/B+ level player is possible, imo.
  4. Add Zito and they could easily have one of the top rotations in the game. Pitching is very important. Add Arod, and they aren't as far as people think. They don't have much else offensively, but they will probably have the most money to spend. We will see if Arod runs for the money again, like he did when he went to Texas. You want me to add him again? I have him as part of the front 3. Don't forget Noah Lowry. Decent 4/5 guy, but they'd be best served trading him to some sucker who thinks his numbers this year weren't fluky.
  5. Sure Hendry, twist the dagger a little bit more. We'd appreciate it.
  6. Take a leak in the pool.
  7. Hustle Heart Determination Whit...uh...Caucas...um...Grit!
  8. Don't the White Sox already hate A-Rod and Boras for using them as a way to drive up A-Rod's price back when he was a free agent? I could swear the White Sox came out and said they'd refuse to deal with Boras clients following that incident.
  9. Ahhhhhhhhhh, this is bringing back memories.
  10. I want to see A-Rod flip Yankee fans the double bird before this one ends.
  11. THERE'S A FLY BALL...WAY BACK...AND IT IS...caught in front of the track. That brings back memories.
  12. I hope to get in on the ground floor with this case after passing the bar. :D
  13. The shareholders know the offers on the table. They're the ones who matter in the publicly held corporation. It's a requirement in every state, to my knowledge. Corporations have a fiduciary duty to their investors in these situations to accept the highest bid (with limitations that likely won't apply here). If MLB comes in and rejects the highest bidder, they will be facing a lawsuit from shareholders that will be unbelievably costly. It's going to be fascinating to keep an eye on in the coming months.
  14. Ronny Cedeno. Thank you. I was thinking it, but didn't want to come out and say it.
  15. The problem with finding those kinds of guys is that they are so incredibly valuable to teams. The advantage of having a great SS is that the guy almost certainly has the goods to play pretty much any position if he's blocked. Asdrubal Cabrera for the Indians is a guy I'd absolutely love to have with Peralta blocking him. However, the Indians can easily shift him to another position and still get good defense and good offensive production out of him. Getting guys like that who are cheap, productive, and play the most valuable position well is next to impossible. The best the Cubs can do if they want to look young is to find someone who is talented, undervalued, and could still play in the majors next season. At the time he was traded, Hanley Ramirez was a good prospect, but there were questions about whether some facets of his game would develop enough to make him a good everyday player. Had Boston known just how much and how quickly he'd have developed, they would never have traded him. The thing is, I honestly can't think of anyone who fits that bill.
  16. I'm not so sure about this with respect to Kendall, depending on what type of FA designation he gets. Lots of teams need catchers and love having veterans behind the dish. If he gets Type A, a team that sees this upcoming draft as not being particularly deep would be fine plunking down some change for Kendall instead of sinking that money into a draft pick. If he gets Type B, nobody loses a draft pick and it might make him easier to move.
  17. I napped and assembled a bookcase. I feel better now.
  18. I'm hoping the fans trash the field. This team deserves it.
  19. I'm hoping for an Indians/Rockies WS that ends up being cancelled due to snow.
