  1. With Peralta blocking the position, could Asdrubal Cabrera be had from the Indians? Also, here's a list of trade bait with major league experience the Cubs could conceivably part with in the offseason without losing much, if anything, who could interest other teams: Sean Marshall Jason Marquis (crappy pitching market) Jacque Jones (contract year) Matt Murton Ryan Dempster (contract year) Sean Gallagher Kevin Hart Juan Mateo Ryan Theriot (if a SS is available) Mark DeRosa (I'd rather not see him traded, but his contract and production would interest a lot of teams) Mark Prior (this would be selling reeeeeeeeeally low, though) Scott Eyre Michael Wuertz Most other guys on the roster either would not be easily replaced or would not be of much interest to other teams, imo. I think the Cubs have the goods to make a splash in the trade market, but we'll see.
  2. There'd be nothing wrong with picking up one of those guys, imo. Seth Smith would be a good pickup.
  3. I'm done with this. I won't watch Saturday. This is a waste of time.
  4. Time for Soriano to K on a 60 foot pitch!
  5. This is quite possibly one of the worst weeks of my life.
  6. If you throw the same pitch three times, things tend to happen.
  7. Go hit the bars with Treeman and Zambrano. My laptop is fried and I'm back home. No can do.
  8. I like their offense and their starting pitching has been solid. Despite Jobo's presence, they have some other guys in the BP who can handily close out games when needed.
  9. In all honesty, Donaldson has the goods to move to 3B successfully if needed.
  10. The next big Japanese import. He can play CF and has some nice potential at the plate.
  11. Reilly and Montague have caused trouble before. Nothing as bad as other noteworthy names, though. *shrug*
  12. I think I'd go from "occasional lush" to "full-blown alcoholic" if that were to happen.
  13. I think the Giants are going to go after him and pay out the nose in doing so.
  14. I'll only give my hopefuls... Angels over Red Sox in 5 Indians over Yankees in 3 Rockies over Phillies in 5 Cubs over Diamondbacks in 4 ALCS: Indians over Angels in 6 NLCS: Cubs over Rockies in 5 World Series: Cubs over Indians in 6 With realistic predictions...you got me! I haven't followed the AL much this season, so I can't say who the better teams are, one way or another.
  15. I'm wavering on this one. I think Holliday probably did not score, but what happened with his left hand is obscured in some of the camera angles. It looks like he might have gotten it under Barrett's foot and got stepped on, but I can't tell for sure one way or another.
  16. 2 outs, runner on 1B. /nitpick any runner still on first with that rainbow throw and the catcher dropping the ball should be shot. Good call.
  17. The only way I can see Holliday being safe is if his left hand managed to get under Barrett's foot on the side. There's a point where Barrett lifts his foot up a bit over home plate (I think) and then brings it back down. It's hard to tell if Holliday's hand was blocked by it or got under it. It's a stretch, though.
